Writing a hub for hubbers

Writing a hub for hubbers

When writing a blog be sure to use a good word processor program such as Microsoft Word. Word has a built-in grammar check and spell-check system, that will make your posts appear much better for readers. The grammar check will also help you improve your writing skills over time and is invaluable for a writer.

Even with word, you should always read your article thoroughly. Grammar and Spell check systems are great for noticing the easy to find errors but they will overlook words with similar meanings or spellings such as, Ad and Add. So, always proofread your work before posting it.

Adsense and Kontera are great ways of making money but getting a Google Adsense account is not easy for some. You will need at least 50 articles posted before they will give you approval or be patient. Getting approval can take up to six months. However, if you work hard and diligently, you should get your approval quickly. Until then, be patient and try using Kontera. Approval with Kontera is fairly, instant so long as you write good articles that are not offensive.

When you do get your approval from Adsense, make sure you adhere to the rules. Do not try to cheat the system or you will lose your Adsense account and making a few extra bucks by having your friends click on ads is not worth what you will lose in the end. Focus on writing more and more articles and the money will get to where it needs to be for you.

The best way to write an article is to look at other articles and make sure that what you are offering carries a new perspective. Always write from your heart and never write anything you do not truly mean.

One of the situations that is commonly encountered in blogging is the critic that thinks what you wrote is very wrong. Such is not the case but they really feel you are. Therefore, the best thing to do is to be open-minded and think about what they are saying. This is actually a great way to ask the question “Is my article biased in the way it is written?” If the answer is yes, then you really should redo your article to show a more openness to everyone’s opinion. However, edit your article without sacrificing your own beliefs.

ADD Cents only makes real money for Google and Hubpages.

Everybody shutters and laments about the cheap labor overseas making our products, but ADD CENTS doesn't even pay that well.

Thanks Opinion Duck, an old friend of mine once said, "Just like the old lady peeing in the sea, every little bit helps".

Truthfully, I actualy did a private poll on Adsense. 80% spoke positively about the outcome while 20% said it did not help them as much as they would have liked.

Ultimately, how well anything works online is up to the individual. Personally, it would be nice if people clicked on the ads and checked out the products for sale. However, demographics show that only 18% of the people shop online anymore while 84% of the people enjoy social networks.

The point I'm driving at is that you have to focus on social network advertising if you want to increase your revenue and website visibility.

Yes, the percentages are lop-sided but there were other variences to take into account.

Thanks for the reply, and I want to say I disregarded the great job that you did on the fundamentals of creating a writing.

ON the Acd Cents, I did several hubs on it and I took polls from the hubbers, and I found that the income from most of them was far below $500 a month.

Sure there are a few people that can make money on any scheme but the average hubber is not that kind. They spend so much time on their hubs they literally earn pennies on them in some cases.

Ad Cents is a pimp, and the pimp usually makes out very well regardless of how the worker does.

Ad Cents IMO is taking advantage of the sheep.

I also think that there is too much exploitation and susceptability of being damaged from these Social Networks.

The Social Networks are like the plains in Africa where all the prey hang out, and this is what draws the predators to the plains, for a kill and a meal.

BTW, the saying about the old lady makes my point, it halps the Sea because of multitudes of old ladies, but it doesn't do much for the individual old lady.

Thanks

Welcome back Opinion Duck. I definitely feel your frustration. Still, the key is diversification and raw tenacity. There are billions of websites competing for views.

Millions of people trying to make money online and many sharks ready to use people to get what they want. Still, we have a voice here. We have the right to write about whatever crosses our mind and we have the right to share our hopes with others. If any person pursues writing, simply to make money, than they are writing for the wrong reason and should find something else to do.

Personally, I write because I love it. I enjoy sharing what I have learned with others and what I said was true. Within the hubs...not alot of people are making money but with diversity, a strong sense of marketing and alot of hard work, anyone can make a good living online. They do not have to be a shark to succeed. All a person needs is knowledge, wisdom, and understanding to become successful.

One of the other great things about the hubs is the ability to get an idea of which of the books people has read the most of, giving a person a better idea of which books will prove more successful. I have posted the first three chapters from six of my books on here. Now, I know which ones to focus on, the most. The point being, use the Hubpages to discover your niche. Use everything online to promote your work and let the world see you.

Oh, and Benjamin Franklin said, a penny saved is a penny earned. In other words, I am being paid to advertise my work here on Hubpages. Not only will I get a little bit of money from Adsense and Kontera but everyone who reads the articles will become aware of my published works. To me, it is like being paid to advertise.

Do not let the system get you down...turn it to your advantage. Always find the positive in things and always look for ways to turn those things to your advantage. Even now, people will read your posts on here, click on your picture and read your articles, thereby, increasing your hub traffic.

Thanks againfor the reply.

I have to clarify something, I have never tried Ad Cents. So I am not frustrated, I am against the Googles and others playing the people.

I have over 100 hubs now with over 14,000 views, and I have unpublished about thirty or so hubs. None of my hubs have advertising.

I guess my work is priceless, zero is priceless, isn't it.

Thanks Opinion Duck,

Not necessarily, though. Zero also means empty...as in empty pockets. I love writing but if I don't make a living doing what I love, I can ill-afford to do it.

Unfortunately, the world does run on money and so long as it does, we can either adhere the the system or suffer for it. If I wish to continue writing, I will have to continue finding methods of being successful or I will have failed myself and my work.

After all, does not the painter sell their paintings? If this is the only way anyone can afford to chase their dreams, then so be it.

It is the way of life that large companies take advantage of people but still, find the positive in everything and just keep working.

I agree, but I will still just write just for the hell of it.

Additionally I don't like the way that the ads break up the focus on my hubs. Although I have replaced them with images from my collection of images that in many cases match the subject of the hub.

Thanks

Looking forward to reading your other hubs.

Hi Opinion Duck, I've been trying to play with the, 'Tags", more. It seems that the ads are based off of the tags although, ulitmately, who knows. Even then, I've already started focusing on writing my next novel more and worrying about everything, less.

OK maybe your smart, experienced and good looking but you pulled out the gloved dear friend with that beautiful comment, and came here to cuss you and tell you so, then I read a hub that in the 20 months I have been here may have been the clearest well put together advice for affiliate relationships *whew* You are amazing, am reading more than off to plagarize something of yours and publish, and get to bed! Bed I'm older, whocares go to sleep-and no clearly I did not look where your from - but the comment war has begun Sir Hayes!

btw I ask for your patience or rather open-mindedness; at 44 I have never went to school, well read I am not, but a writer or imaginary fairy tale fanatic and truth bearer I am ha. Nice hub, Truly, you floored me and clearly read much more than my words, *chills*, and that my friend, in my school books, is what makes a gift offering one who possesses it, a great writer, kudos! Thanks again!

I haven't much advice to offer other than try, and try again. There are many formats and techniques for Adsense where sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. As for tags -- they are everything. Properly done, you will appear in the search engines within the first three pages if you're content is original and relevant to the search. The best advice: be patient. It takes times for ranking to happen in the search engines and once it's established, the money will increase. It's faster for some and slower for others (that would be me in the latter category). :) And Kimberly -- she's the best! Love her to death! :)

Hi Beth100...I couldn't agree with you more...everything in life is about trial and error. The only ones who won't suceed are those that give up trying. If you think of any more advice for our fellow writer's, please feel free to write as many comments as you want and I'll keep posting them.

Thank you. There is one other important little (well, not so little) thing (and I would say this is THE most important): networking and actively participate with other writers - whether reading their writings, leaving feedback or playing around in the forums. It's through meeting other writers who have helped me the most with exposure -- experience, recommendations, help, advice, friendship, mentoring and guidance. Word of mouth is still the best marketing tool ever! :) Again, thanks for letting me leave my thoughts here. I appreciate it. And, I just love your articles!!! :)

Beth100 you are absolutely right...networking is crucial for writers. Hubpages has a great system for helping people meet the right people to help them get on their feet. No doubt about. Thanks for the advice.
