Writing for People and Writing for Google: Content Quality Vs. SEO

Updated on January 5, 2016

What to do?

Writing for SEO? I'm not a SEO expert and I'm not a computer geek. I'm not an experienced hubber, I don't have lots of traffic and I have almost no readers, so, why should you listen to me? Well there are 3 kinds of people. The kind that writes for people to read (my kind), the kind that writes for machines to pick up keywords (SEO enthusiasts you can find arguing about google panda) and people that do both things. (The really sucessfull kind of people).

Why do you need to have both?

So why is it that you need to have both of these types... to write for both people and machine? Well, I write for the people, even though my articles have lots of quality, well the most part, they don't have readers because I don't care about SEO and promoting. That is a real flaw in my method.... what good is to have a high quality article if nobody reads it?

The SEO experts write thinking only about the machine... well they might rank higher than me but not for long, because new algorithms like google panda are always coming out in order to ditch traffic oriented sites to give an upper hand to quality content sites. Above all of this, even if they get visitors they will have an hard time to maintain them if they do not provide quality articles, because people will read all those keywords and just move on to find another article to solve their problems.

So, if you are a kind of writer that specializes in just one of these areas like me, your off to a bad start. Try to learn how to target machine or men to become the best machine AND personal writer. Learn.... grow as you write. I hope I can do it too.

So...

What kind of writer are you?

Some Special SEO Tips:

SEO shouldn't be mechanical, it should always be readable, but keyword density is still important, as Google bots can't pick up subjective content - but objective keywords.

However, some recent updates have altered the way we should work to optimize our websites and so I chose a video that I found useful to better understand how we stand SEO wise - some tips and tricks about content writting are also included as a treat.

So, check it out and I hope it helps!

Carreira's Content Writing Tips:

To continue this Hub on a positive note, I'll now give you some tips I think helped me develop my own writing career, making me improve and get better results.

Through self-improvement and constant learning, you'll unlock new TIERs for the amazingly complex character that you are.

So, throughout the last part of this article I'll take you by the hand as we approach some of the most valuable tips I wish someone had given me.

Read Blogs: Don't Stick to Your Own!

Blogging is a Lifestyle!
Blogging is a Lifestyle!

One of the best tips I can give you is: - Don't stick to your own blog!

- Don't stick to your own blog!

Many Bloggers write on their blogs and fail to read others, and this can really hinder you because if you drive around the Blogosphere you can easily know other people and network. Not only that you also can learn to master your own voice.

By reading other blogs you perfect your own writing style, and you'll take a sip from the bloggers' persona to fit on your own.

I found it immensely valuable to read blogs of my "competitors" since I think it gave me a huge edge on them.

I dominated my speech, and I studied theirs, and I keep studying them to keep on improving.

Be Diligent!
Be Diligent!

Be Diligent: Never Give Up Writing!

You'll spend a lot of time earlier on your career writing for no one, as you won't have traffic, but bear in mind that everything you do on the Internet adds-up.

Every article you write, every word you publish, every link you build will keep on working in your favor if you do it in a smart way, and that is what you must do in order to enjoy success.

Everything that is worthwhile takes work to do, and that's what prevents the majority of us from succeeding - don't be the guy that gives up.

Write smart and be diligent!

Promote your Articles
Promote your Articles

Promote Your Work: Get Cited and Network!

If you're one of those who write for Humans but fail to get the attention of your target demographic, you aren't going to go far.

You can't publish and wait for them to come, you really have to put your back into it and work to promote your articles and web pages in a smart way.

Remember that promoting and networking must be done in a smart way, and you should avoid spamming or link building through those bad black hat methods, so bear that in mind before firing your batteries everywhere.

Keep at it and never give up, and you will undoubtedly succeed!
