Does anyone actually make money with the Amazon Affiliates program? If so, what's the key?
I've been hubbing since last April, and haven't had a single person purchase anything via my Amazon listings. Other hubbers claim to make money through their Amazon Affiliate listings. Is it just a matter of having a ton of hubs out there, or is there a particular strategy involved that I'm missing?
NO. Never have made one penny. But, E-BAY is a different story. I've stopped using Amazon altogether and will sometimes use 2 E-Bay capsules. What are the odds of someone buying from Amazon on our Hubs? Apparently, Very little.
I've never made anything from Amazon either and would love to know the secret if there is one.
My understanding is that the people who make money with Amazon affiliates are the ones who write product reviews and include Amazon capsules for the product in their reviews. I've had a few purchases that have come from capsules in my hubs, but not many.
Sometimes I see hubs that include long lists of items in one Amazon capsule; I'm wondering if they make any money. Any Amazon capsules I include in my hubs have to be directly related to what I'm talking about, and I typically won't include more than three or so products, although I gave written a couple of hubs about book series where I included a capsule for each book in the series.
I haven't earned, though i was curious that i did make capsule for some Amazon products. With Ebay i have earned a little. I guess i will change the Amazon capsule into E-bay.
Yes, but it takes a bit more effort than common PPC revenue.
I can only go by my earnings from my other websites & blogs, and not here; in fact, I just got paid from Amazon a few days ago. I've always had the best results with health-related products...
Anyway, what has worked best for me, is to write an informative post about, say, the health benefits of a certain herb, for example. If your post is enticing and convincing enough, there's a good chance you'll get a few sales here and there, simply due to people being interested in the product that you are promoting in a nonchalant fashion.
Hey, nonchalant works! If you come across as somebody that's strongly pushing a product, it will turn most people off.
However, if you go on about a certain subject and make it sound good, but pretty much leave it up to the viewer to click the links without strongly recommending anything, your chances of a sale actually go up.
On the other hand, if you're just rambling about random subjects and slapping down some Amazon adverts at the end of your junk, it rarely works.
A lot of people always talk about product reviews being the best option, but I've always had the best luck with informative articles that relate to the products as opposed to directly trying to sell 'em. ...Many folks that are seeking product reviews, are bouncing around the web looking for various opinions and are obviously not sure to begin with, which sounds sort of like the "Hub Hopping" of shopping, to say the least; ha!
At any rate, Amazon doesn't work well for a lot of folks, but I enjoy the option...
Appreciate you sharing your experience regarding this subject. What you say makes a lot of sense. I'm learning a lot from everyone sharing insights on this topic. I suspected certain approaches must work better than others. Thanks!
Okay, well, if you take my advice and you succeed, I only expect 15% of the profits... LOL!

I've never generated a cent from these two programs and they've also never really worked properly. Constantly my adsense claims its active then I'm not approved, then it just mucks up everything. I'm not making any money on hubs as it is but this isn't helping anything.

I'm curious if anyone actually makes money on their hubs. How long did it take for you to make some? Is it a good side income?
