Creating Goals
New Year's Resolutions
Happy New Year!! The start of a new year is a wonderful time to sit back and think about creating both personal and professional goals for yourself. It's a time to reflect on what you feel is important and ask yourself if you think you are on the track you hope. I know what you're thinking ... no one ever keeps New Year's Resolutions. Well, as a challenge, I decided to try to sum up goals that I have in hopes that I will try harder to keep the goals that I have created. On my own, I'm not so sure I will succeed, but with faith in God, and help from friends and peers, I promise to give it my best.
Here are my goals and inspiration for my choices! What goals have you created for yourself this year? I wish you well in all your endeavors! =D

Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character
Life Goals from Proverbs 31:10-31 in the Bible
A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.
Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.
She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.
She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.
She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants.
She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.
She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.
In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.
When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
"Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
Inspiration for Goals!
Faith
Goal: Serve and glorify God in whatever ways He wishes me to do. Tell others about Him and share His love!
"Love the LORD my God,
to walk in obedience to him,
to keep his commands,
to hold fast to him and
to serve him with all my heart
and with all my soul."
Joshua 22:4-6
Music
Goal: Practice and improve playing my instruments! Try to play new styles and harder music. Compose and arrange more music for myself and students. Guide my music students to have fun and do their best in their educational efforts.
"Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs."
Psalm 100:2
Health
Goals: Diet - Make better choices for what I eat and don't eat.
Exercise - do physical activities a minimum of 3 or 4 times per week.
"Long life to you! Good health to you and your household! And good health to all that is yours!"
1 Samuel 25:6
Family
Goal: Spend as much time as possible with my husband, children, parents, brother, and family. Love them and treasure every moment that God has given to be with them.
"Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve,
... but as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."
Joshua 24:14-16
Homeschool
Goal: Teach my children to the best of my ability not only in academics, but also life skills and Biblical character.
"Train a child in the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."
Proverbs 22:6
"Do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."
Ephesians 6:4
"Do you not know that in a race
all the runners run,
but only one gets the prize?
Run in such a way
as to get the prize.
1 Corinthians 9:23-25
Online Business
Goal: Continue to learn about building my online business around the web. Work hard to take care of my family.
"Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval."
Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?"
Jesus answered,
"The work of God is this:
to believe in the one he has sent."
John 6:27-29
Social Networking
Goal: Reconnect with family and friends old and new;
meet new people via social networking sites!
"At midnight I rise to give you thanks
for your righteous laws.
I am a friend to all who fear you,
to all who follow your precepts.
The earth is filled with your love,
LORD; teach me your decrees."
Psalm 119:62-64
Where is your favorite place for social networking?
"Therefore,
since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders & the sin that so easily entangles, & let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer & perfecter of faith.
For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, & sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary & lose heart."
H
"Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love."
Ephesians 6:23-24
