# How to work out Three Figure Bearings

## Three Figure Bearings

**In this hub we will be looking at three figure bearings. **

**The true bearing of a point is the **__angle__** measured in degrees, **

**in a clockwise direction from the North Line.**

**The true bearing will be referred to simply as the “bearing”**

The four main directions of a compass are known as the **cardinal points.**

Where the **NE, NW, SE** and **SW** would be referred to as the **half cardinal points.**

**The North represents 0 ^{0} or 360^{0}**

**The East represents 90 ^{0}**

**The South represents 180 ^{0}**

**The West represents 270 ^{0}**
