The purpose of Man and Mankind. Does "Intelligence" matter anymore?

These are the people we should be emulating

The Facets of Intelligence

The quote "a rose by any other name would still be the same" is an 'intelligent' parallelism.

But this type of analogy can only be considered intelligent when used to describe material objects (forms of solid matter that are easily identifiable by actually "seeing" and "touching" them).

Intelligence itself can either be simple or complex, and not all individuals seem to possess the ability to capture both.

Or rather, everyone 'possesses' the ability, but few possess the 'desire' to grow beyond their own societal spheres.

The untenable side of intelligence is sadly lacking in much of the global population.

This is not meant to be a derogatory statement. It is more of an observation based on the overt behaviors of man(kind) itself.

Grossly obvious negative behaviors; both in today's world and throughout our history of man's violent behaviors without logic or common sense would certainly indicate that lack of desire for advanced intellect.

The basic definition of intelligence is the ability to think and make a decision as to a course of action in our lives.

One of The dictionary definitions of intelligence is: ..the ability to learn, or understand, or to deal with, new or trying situations by the skilled use of reasoning or common sense.

To think abstractly about situations and ideas.

Purpose of Man(kind)

The painfully "observable'' purpose of man(kind) lacks any kind of logical, abstract, or critical thinking skills.

The observable traits of mankind include:

  • exploitation of others for selfish reasons
  • killing without logical rational reasons
  • vying for dominance over others
  • deliberately causing pain and suffering to innocent people
  • self emulation
  • self serving
  • and most shameful of all - doing all those negative things to one another in the name of an "abstract" entity we are all conditioned to both fear and revere.

Is this all there is to life?

No Intelligence Here

It would seem than man's legacy to future generations is teaching children how to sail through their lifetimes leaving as big a path of destruction in their wake as humanly possible without totally destroying the planet and all life on it.

Does "intelligence" really matter anymore, or even factor into the inhumane path man is on today?

This destructive pathway supersedes the growth of any type of intellectual pursuits, destroys basic human values, and radically slows the progression of science, medicine, humanitarianism, or anything else that might benefit mankind as a whole.

This may sound like a cynical view of mankind, but what else can one think when we look at the destructive forces being played out today in every country around the world.

There is no profit in peace and harmony; so the current conditions are necessary to maintain the insatiable greed and lust for power by the few who dictate the fate of humanity for their own desires.

Mankind has created a world in which hatred is overpowering intelligence.

Is this truly the sole purpose of mankind?
