Take The 2.0 Strengths Finder Assessment

A couple years ago, I took the Strengths Finder 2.0 Assessment. I was amazed at the results. They are clear, accurate and truly me. Many excellent ideas were presented to me as well. If you choose to get the book, there will be a number in the back of the book -- which will be your identifying number. Nobody else will have the number besides you. After you complete the assessment online, a complete comprehensive report will be sent to you. You will be able to use the information for days, weeks and perhaps years to come. Enjoy understanding you!

Identifying your strengths is one of the most rewarding tasks you can do for yourself. It is rewarding and challenging at the same time. You ever wonder why you have a difficult time talking about how good you are. I have always pondered this question, and I think I finally understand what’s underneath all the layers of self/strength discovery.

Discovering your strength is key to success

As you read through this information, I want you to let your guard down and begin to relax and focus on you. I refer to strength as the ability to get results; something that you do that shows great promise. Discovering your strength is a fascinating subject because it sets the foundation for your future.

You are the most important person in the world – right? This is your time right now. Consider yourself being swooped off into a land of self-discovery just for a few moments. Let’s take a journey into the corridors of your innermost self – your soul, your mind, your likes, your desires, your intellect, and your heart.

The Acceptance Rule

Discovering your strengths starts with accepting three things about you:

  1. Accept who you are right now. For example: You are beautiful/handsome, weigh so many pounds and want to quit your job.
  2. Accept where you came from. For example: You came from a rural town, grew up on a farm and your dad raised you.
  3. Accept what you have. For example: You have x amount of dollars in the bank, own your home and behind on your bills.

The Acceptance Rule is fact based, it is true. However, you can change the rule any time. Acceptance means coming to grips with the reality of your life.

Now I want you to think about the things that people have said to you about you. These things could be good or what might appear to be bad. For instance, have you ever been told that you talk too much? Talking could be your strength, and you need to direct and focus it.

Now I will share with you three of the ways you can discover your strength. 1) Creating a list of the things you are good at, 2) Personality test and 3) People - Mentorship.

Create A List of Things You Are Good At

Create a list (think about) of everything you are good at. Good means that you are better than average. You are better than most. Please do not take this lightly, because you can miss out on some valuable information about yourself. If you don’t like writing things down, ask someone to do it for you while you dictate. I expect this list to be nice and long. If you are having trouble coming up with things you are good at, begin to think unlimited.

Personality Test

I love personality test; they make you feel good about yourself. And there is no right or wrong answer. You can find personality test abundantly online for free. You may have to provide your email address to get the results, and they are worth taking. I took a personality test once where I was asked about different colors. Several colors were presented to me, and I had to eliminate them one by one.

During the process of personality test, data is being collected about you so that a summary can be made about you. Provide honest answers so that you can get accurate results. The more accurate the results, the greater chance you have at making good decisions for your life.

People In Your Life and Mentorship

The people in your life that you surround yourself with are key to your self-discovery. You have to choose the right people to hang around. I heard a man say, “people that are into you.” You want people that can add to your life. You want quality people, and this will be a short list. Choose a select few that can fit your need.

Now is the time to consider a mentor if you do not have one. A mentor is someone who guides and navigates you on your path to success. A mentor is the one who enters your life to cause change to happen. You highly respect your mentor, and you trust your mentor. A mentor will help you get a clearer picture of your life.

Spend time getting to know yourself, because you are the most important person in the world!
