Right Brained, Left Brained Test

Updated on February 1, 2014
Source

Each of us has our own inherent tendency to use either side of our brain, which explains why we behave, feel, and act in a variety of forms which are distinct to each and everyone of us. Are you a right-brainer, a left-brainer, or both? Some just cannot resist but answer "no-brainer".

Seriously though, most of us don't have the slightest clue which side of our brain is dominant. Although many people wouldn't care less to find out which side of their brains are dominant, there are many others that are curious enough to find out. After all, there's nothing to lose once they find out which side of their brain is dominating their actions.

To find out which hemisphere of your brain you're always using, try out the short yet very popular brain test indicated below. You may be surprised with your results and may get to know yourself even better.

For starters, take a keen look at the spinning silhouette of a ballerina below and try to determine its spinning direction:

Which Way Is The Silhouette Spinning?

Clockwise or Counter-Clockwise?

Your Right Brain or Left Brain Determines The Spin Direction

Some people will see the ballerina turning clockwise, counter-clockwise, or both. If you see the silhouette turning clockwise, then your right brain is dominant; on the other hand, if you see it as turning counter-clockwise, then your left brain is dominant. Lastly, if you see the silhouette turning in either directions most of the time, then you have a balanced use of both sides of your brain.

That is just only the tip of the fun. To get a more vivid comprehension if you're really a left or right-brainer and how it relates to your personality, take the quick brain test linked to below. This test is one of the most popular brain tests you can find online, and it's totally free. Just enter your first name (you don't have to enter your email) and click "Enter" to get started with the test right away. You'd be amused by the results. You can also share what you think about the test as well as your results in the comments section.

Your Right Brain and Left Brain Functions

Although the brain divides its functions between the left and right brain hemisphere, it actually synchronizes the data processing from these two hemispheres and then processes these data further in a series of sequential logic levels.

The information graphic below will show the inner-workings and functions of the right and left side of the brain, and how it relates to you:

Which is Better - A Dominant Right Brain or Left Brain?

It's worthwhile to keep in mind that having a dominant right brain carries no advantage over having a dominant left brain or vice-versa. It is who you are. It's in your blood and your DNA - and that's a big factor on why you have your current personality or why you behave and act in certain ways.

Some people claim that right-brainers are more superior than left-brainers or vice versa, but most of the time, they're just expressing biased opinions. There are no studies that can convincingly prove that right brainers are better off than their lefty counterparts or vice-versa. Either of the brain hemisphere dominance will almost always make you complete any given task, although there may be situations which can efficiently be handled by the right or left brain hemisphere functions. Many of the world's great leaders, successful entrepreneurs, and prominent personalities who have had great success in their respective fields of endeavor are either right-brainers or left-brainers.
