Be deviled....Or be Gone.

*the song version is above on youtube.

Be Deviled.....or Be Gone.

She had that "use me" look
written all over her face,
with a smile that had
seen too many miles,
but her eyes were as
lovely as a summer day,
over a body that would
drive a man wild.

So I bought her some drinks
because I'd been used too,
and we both hit it off pretty fine,
Then we had us a ball
until they hollered last call,
so she invited me
to her pad for wine.

But when I got to her place,
I noticed that it was graced,
with some crucifixes
hung upside down,
There were ten voodoo dolls
and a couple of skulls,
plus a book of spells
left open, I found...

But when she took
off her clothes
from her neck to her toes,
I knew right then.....
I was probably screwed.
There were devils and demons,
Dear Lord I thought
I was dreaming,
Cause every inch of her
bare flesh was tattooed.

So when she went

to the bathroom
just to freshen up,
I turned her spell book

over to read a page,
of what she’d left prepared there
for catching me unaware,
Nine ways to make a man
her permanent slave.

I tiptoed off towards the door
and to the heavens I swore,
That all my future dates

would be girls from church,
as I fumbled my keys.....
begging "Oh, my God, Please!"
and then I drove out of there
with a lurch.

The next day I woke up
with a sigh of relief,
I was feeling good
like I’d been reborn,
Till I looked in the mirror,
and all my joy disappeared,
I'd grown a forked tail
and my forehead had horns.

Now I’m locked in my room,
it’s my permanent tomb,
I'm wearing hoodies
when I buy groceries,
I tuck my tail in my pants
it looks okay at first glance,
But no girl's never
gonna ever date me.

So if you go chasing
jollies on a Saturday night,
And you spot a girl
who looks like a dream,
Before you're fully engrossed,
and wander in way to close,
Make sure her come on's ....
.....not just a wicked gleam.

Cause it’s a meat
market out there,
full of ripe hungry souls,

with a lot of rare women as well

so while you're making your stops
and checking out those bar hops

beware cause some of them

are spoiled as hell,
before you just go for it,
get to know her bit,

or you'll have a

horror story to tell
and have to bid your
social life a farewell.

Oh my!!! How wonderful to NOT be in that rat race! Guess I never was - I didn't drink, didn't even drive, so it kept me in check. But I've heard horror stories, especially from young men of the generation where this is almost the "norm". Vicious women who may not be tatooed or into satanism, but who are such takers and users, it's almost beyond belief - voodoo would be no worse, I guess. It's horrid. Glad you got outta there. ;->

It is a really good story in poem form! VIVID! Ought to be use in teenager's health classes - do they still have those?

Great poem and unfortunately true. We really don't know what lurks beneath the surface of the alluring smile of a stranger...
