A fun and magical recipe to do with your Children

Forget making a fire and finding a stick and roasting a marshmellow over the flames only to have it fall into the ashes. Simply chick this out and have some fun

Chick, Chick, Chick, Hooray!!

I love to
take those pink,
yellow and blue
marshmallow chicks
right about Easter time
from their cellophane coops
where they are all lined up
with droopy beaks
and pin point
coal black eyes,
and set them
on a paper plate,
which I then place
in the microwave,
setting it to about
20 to 45 seconds,
on high,
and then pushing
the power button.
cooking times vary
and if you microwave
them to long they will
simply explode into
a gooey mess that is
very hard to clean
out of your chick
incinerator.
But It is s worth
the risk of a
scrubbing pad
and soapy water
Each rather
average size chick
becomes a chicken
that could eat Cleveland.
They swell up
from the internal heat
to about four
to six times
their size
while their pink,
yellow and blue
colors fade
to a soft pale
Then after they
cool a bit
I get to savor a
sugary coated
roasted marshmallow treat
you can watch them
go Wooooop wow
as they swell up and
delight your little ones
with their massive growth.
So this Easter,
Nuke a chick.
make a little bit
of your holiday,
bigger then
it really is.
Nobody really likes them
cold anyway do they?
turn them into
a finer cuisine
but just be sure
that they don't burst
at the seams.
and think pink
those are my favorite
melted chickies.

Bon appetit!

Instructions

  1. Buy those really cheap, chicks a chance to become big stasrs in your childrens eyes. They also have rabbits that get even bigger when they are Nuked.
  2. Always use a paper plate so that you can throw it away. Marshmallow is a very strong glue when it dries.
  3. Be very careful before you bite into your gargantuan chick, they can be very hot, allow them to cool a bit
  4. Be really inventive and create a version of Smores that I call schmicks after you remove the giant, Heated peep set the peep on a graham cracker with chocolate under it and gently smoosh another piece of chocolate and cracker on top. The microwave will have made it melted enough to melt the chocolate and make a fine chick sandwich
  5. Then sit down and enjoy a little peep into one of my favorite Easter treats
