Coko - The Winner In Me And Grateful Gospel Albums
Coko Clemens 2nd Inspirational Gospel Album The Winner In Me
Cheryl "CoKo" Clemens is best known for her debut as the lead singer of the 90's R & B female group "Sister's With Voices" (SWV). She has a beautiful soprano sound that has lasted over the last two decades of her career. Even though her and her group mates have had a very successful career, CoKo branched out on her own in 1999 with her solo R & B CD called "Hot Coko". Her first single was "Sunshine" which was dedicated to her son Jazz.
She soon regained a passion for the gospel flair and in October 2006 she had her full gospel solo debut album entitled, "Grateful". "Grateful" debuted at #5 on Billboard's Top Independent album's chart. It featured artist such as Fantasia Barrino, Faith Evans, Lil Mo and more.
In the Summer of 2009, she released her second solo gospel album entitled "The Winner In Me". It is just as inspirational as the first one. This album is filled with outstanding music and passion. She has a host of good producers on her side on this album including her husband, musician and producer "Big" Mike Clemons, Sean Simmonds, David Caton and more.
The album is filled with stars such as Kelly Price, Youthful Praise, American Idol finalist, Felicia Barton and more. She sends a christ filled message of living life with success and she shares her faith with everyone who will listen. My favorite songs on this album are "Rescue Me" and "I Surrender". They have a very urban feel and they are great inspiration to the new age of gospel and the youth of today. It takes a lot to get through to the youngster's these day's and CoKo sure can if any one can with this passionate gospel album. "Make A Way" which was produced by Canton Jones adds a hip hop flair to an already flawless album.
CoKo certainly has a lot to be grateful for. She has a very beautiful and talented family and a loving and talented husband, musician and producer, "Big" Mike Clemons who has helped her with her solo career. You need to pick up this album because it teaches you a lot about faith and love. The transition from R & B to gospel sometimes can be a challenge but it was smooth sailing for Mrs. Cheryl "CoKo" Clemons. Thank you girl for the talent and inspiration. I love it!!!!
