Dancing With The Stars All-Stars -- The Semi-Finals

Updated on November 20, 2012

Mish-Mash and Michael Jackson Dances

It’s the Semi-Finals and two celebrities will be eliminated again, this week. There will also be two dances. One will be that mish-mash dance that dancers chose for each other and the other will be dancing to a song from Michael Jackson’s Bad album, as a way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the album’s release. I think the only reason Dancing With The Stars is making a big hoo-haa over the anniversary of Bad is because ABC is having some Michael Jackson special. Besides, wasn’t Thriller the album that truly put Michael Jackson on the map and made him the King Of Pop?

The first dances are the Mish-Mash Dances.

Melissa and Tony dance a Caveman Hustle. Tony and Melissa having trouble coming up with a believable dance. Tony also hurt his back in rehearsal, but he’s cleared by doctors to dance.

Len – Fred and Wilma never did so well.

Bruno – Most effective use of animal skins since Rachel Welch.

CA – She loved it.

CA: 9

Len: 9.5

Bruno: 9

Total: 27.5

Knight Rider Bhangra done by Shawn and Derek.

Bruno – another hit for Shawn and Derek.

CA – finally Shawn is out of breath.

Len – Shawn was fantastic.

CA: 10

Len: 10

Bruno: 10

Total: 30

Bigtop Jazz with Apolo and Karina

CA – loved the concept and what they were going for but disjointed.

Len – couple of awkward moments.

Bruno – edgy and surreal.

CA: 8.5

Len: 9

Bruno: 9.5

Total: 27

Espionage Lindy Hop by Emmitt and Cheryl.

Len – Liked the concept and the energy.

Bruno – Looneytoon version of James Bond.

CA -- most animated performance ever.

CA: 9

Len: 9

Bruno: 9

Total: 27

Kelly and Val do a Surfer Flamingo.

Bruno – she was upstaged by Val’s speedo.

CA – no Flamenco.

Len – they went all in.

CA: 8

Len: 9

Bruno: 8.5

Total: 25.5

I thought it was a good chance. Certainly a lot better than Apolo and Karina’s dance that was a mess.

Now it’s time for the Michael Jackson round.

Melissa and Tony dance to MJ’s Dirty Diana. They’re dancing an Argentine Tango.

Len – be disappointed if she doesn’t make the finals.

Bruno – dirty nasty wicked woman.

CA – magnificent Melissa.

CA: 10

Len: 10

Bruno: 10

Total: 30

Shawn and Derek doing Argentine Tango to Bad.

Bruno – brilliant.

CA – lacked passion of the Argentine Tango. Bruno gets into a fight with CA.

Len – she nailed both parts.

CA: 9

Len: 10

Bruno: 10

Total: 29

Apolo and Karina do a Rumba to Man In The Mirror.

CA – that’s what she’s talking about.

Len – wave after wave of effortless motion.

Bruno – nailed it.

CA: 10

Len: 10

Bruno: 10

Total: 30

Emmitt and Cheryl do the tango to Leave Me Alone.

Len – coped marvelously well with both dances.

Bruno – predatory power. Footwork could have been more exact.

CA – he brought his A game.

CA: 9

Len: 9

Bruno: 9

Total: 27

Val and Kelly dance a Rumba to I Can’t Stop Loving You.

Bruno – wonderful

CA – beautiful.

Len – control and emotion.

Val carried Kelly up the stairs again like she’s a baby that can’t walk. It’s really getting old. It was one thing when she broke her toe, but now it’s getting obnoxious the way he’s trying to play up to the shippers shipping him and Kelly in some kind of romance.

CA: 9.5

Len: 9.5

Bruno: 9.5

Total: 28.5

I really think Apolo and Emmitt need to go. I think both are not as good as Gilles was who got the boot because his personality turned a lot of people off.

I’m not really a Tony fan, but I’d like to see him and Melissa win it, since I don’t think it was fair bringing back ex-champions to compete. The All-Stars should have been celebs who didn’t win on their seasons and the only ones who haven’t won, previously, are Tony and Melissa.

Who would I like to see in the finals?

Tony and Melissa

Val and Kelly

Shawn and Derek.

We’ll see if they make it.
