This is a remake of an old Television Series that aired from 1985 to 1989. It is Directed by Antoine Fuqua, and was released September 26, 2014. It is a story about an older man Robert McCall (Denzial Washington) who is trying to start a new life and works at a large Home improvement store. A younger girl who he is friends with runs into trouble with the Russian Mafia. It turns out that Robert McCall is a retired Intelligence Officer. He proceeds to take on the Russian Mob in Boston. Lots of good action. Although I don't believe it was his Best all time movie. I understand that there is already plans to make a sequel. I would rate this movie 6 out 0f 10.

The movie was released November 2, 2012. It was Directed by Robert Zemeckis. It is about an airline pilot Whip Whitaker (Denzel Washington) Who has a Cocaine and Alcohol problem. He suffers an Aircraft Failure and after having to invert the airplane loses engine power and miraculously crash lands his plane saving almost everyone on board. He is deemed a hero and everybody can't figure out how he managed to land it. Then he gets a blood test and they all find out he was under the influence. I would rate this movie 9 out of 10.

Book of Eli was released on January 15, 2010. It was directed by the Hughes Brothers,It is a post-apocalyptic action film. . It sort of reminded me of the Mad Max series. Eli (Denzel Washington) has a voice telling him in his head to deliver his book to someone in the west. He has been walking east for 30 years to deliver the book. On his way he has many fights and defeats Highway men and others on the way. Ii thought it had a decent plot and story line and would rate it 5 out of 10.

Crimson Tide

Crimson Tide was released in May 12,1995. It was directed by Tony Scott and Stared Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman. Ron Hunter who is a new Executive Officer (Danzel Washington) and Captain Ransey (Gene Hackman) aboard an Nuclear Armed Submarine the USS Alabama go on a routine Patrol Mission. From the start the the two do not get along and have personality clashes. Some Russian Rebels take control of a Russian Missile base and they start fueling their missile for launch against the U.S. The Submarine gets an Emergency Action Message telling then to launch 10 Missiles at the base. While Preparing to launch they start to receive a second message and gets attacked by a Russian Submarine which knocks out their radio in the middle of a transmission. Then conflict begins between the XO and the Captain. This is one is my favorite Danzel Washington films. I give it a 9 out of 10.

Was released in 2004. It was directed by Tony Scott. It is a Thriller movie. John Creasy (Denzel Washington) play an ex CIA operative, Recon Marine who is an Alcoholic. Is hired on to Body Guard an 8 year old child Pita Ramos (Dakota Fanning) in Mexico City. They soon establish a friendship. The father has kidnapping insurance, after a Piano Lesson Pita gets abducted and Casey shoots four of the kidnappers but gets shot and collapses. Her father agrees to pay a 10 million ransom and it goes wrong and gets taken by another group. Creasy gets out of the hospital and promises to kill everybody involved in her kidnapping. He finds out that the Father was in financial trouble and help stage the kidnapping. Good Story and interesting Plot. I give this one a 9 out of 10.

It was released in September 29, 2000. It was directed by Boaz Yakin. It was based on a true story about a Desegregated High School T.C. Williams High. Coach Herman Boone (Denzel Washington) Take over as Head Coach from a former head coach Bill Yoast (Will Patton) that he offers a position to. He original decline and after some thought takes a defensive coaching job. Black and White Player keep getting into racial conflicts at their football camp. After some tough coaching they gain racial harmony. This one I have to rate it a 7 out of 10

American Gangster

American Gangster

It was released on November 2, 2007. It was directed by Ridley Scott. Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington) and Richie Roberts (Russell Crowe). Lucas A Limo Driver Inherits a gang from Johnson’s Gang When he dies of a heart attack. Lucas decides that he doesn’t like the other gangs in Harlem so he takes control. He sets up a smuggling ring from Thailand by using servicemen returning from Vietnam. His product is higher quality than his rivals. By Wholesaling drugs to dealer in New York he has a monopoly. He starts to remove other competition from the area. Meanwhile New York Police Detective Richie Roberts (Russell Crowe) partner, dies of an overdose. He goes to a fight and Lucas has a better seat then the Mafia at a fighting event. So he starts to investigate. He makes a point of operating quietly and stays away from the use of drugs. Roberts eventual gets enough evidence to arrest Lucas and Lucas try to bribe Roberts. Lucas eventually reaches a deal with Roberts giving him all the names of corrupted cops. He gets a 70 year sentence and it gets reduced down to 15. I give this one a 9 out of 10

Was Released on September 21, 2001 and directed by Antoine Fuqua. Detective Alonzo Harris (Denzel Washington) and Jake Hoyt (Ethen Hawke). Denzel Washington received an Academy Award for his part in this film. Plenty of action in this movie.

Jake is to be evaluated by detective Harris who is a highly decorated police officer. They see a teenager dealing drugs in a park and Alonzo takes the drugs and makes his partner take a hit. His partner refuses and Alonzo puts a gun to his head and tells him he could get himself killed on the street. So he smokes it. Jake see a girl being molested besides a dumpster and beats the two guys up saving her from getting assaulted. She drops her wallet and he picks it up after she leaves.

Alonzo decide to get rid of Jake and sets him up with some Mexican drug dealer. They decide to kill him but before they do they find his cousin wallet and find out that he saved his cousin from being assaulted. In gratitude he leaves him go. In the end Jake gets his justice. I give this a 9 out of 10

Glory

Glory was released February 16.1989. It was directed by Edward Zwick. It is considered a War Drama about the first unit of African American Soldiers in the Civil War. As told by the White officer Colonel Robert Shaw. The movie won 3 Academy Awards. Denzel Washington won Best supporting Actor. Colonial Robert Shaw (Matthew Broderick), Private Silas Trip (Denzel Washington), Sergeant Major John Rawlins (Morgan Freeman).

This film is about the formation of the first All Black Unit Called the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. He has several friends that join including Trip who is an escaped slave. They learn that the confederacy has issued an order that any Black soldiers found in a Union Uniform are so be executed on sight. They go thru rigorous training with an Irish Sergeant. Trip goes AWOL and when he is caught he receives a lashing. After words they find out that he was trying to get a good pair of boots. Once they complete their training they are sent to South Carolina. On their way there they are ordered to sack a town in Georgia. The commanding officer Colonial Shaw get upset because all that the unit is allowed to do is construction and manual labor. After confronting his commanding officer about the smuggling and looting the 54th get put into action. They defeat a Confederacy army at James Island in South Carolina after a Bloody Fight. Then they are put into a battle as the lead troops to attack Fort Wagner. This is probably one of the best movies Denzel Washington has done I give it a 10 out of 10

Malcom X

This film was released on November 18, 1992. It was directed by Spike Lee. Denzel Washington was nominated for an academy award for best actor. It starts out with a flag burning into the form of an X. Malcolm Little (Denzel Washington) and they are walking down a street making small time plans to make money. They get caught doing a crime with two White women the women got 2 years and Little and Shorty (Spike Lee) get 8 to 10 years. The film tells about his life in Prison and his conversion to Islam. His ministry and his falling out. His experience with racism and his assassination. I rate this one 8 out of 10.
