Did you know....

Tina fey did TV commercials for Mutual Savings Bank in 1995...

Brad Pitt did Pringle potatoe chip commercials in 1989...

Leonardo DiCaprio did Bubble Yum gum commercials in 1988...

Meg Ryan did commercials selling Aim toothpaste...

Morgan Freeman did commercials for Listerine mouthwash in 1971 and...

John Travolta did commercials for Safeguard soap in 1971 ?

The common thread, then and now, remains that for many now famous actors in the biz, making TV commercials was their way in or at least paid the bills until the big break. Travolta, actually, all of the above now earn between 15-20 million dollars a movie.

Stephanie Courtney and Pete Holmes are going down the beaten path now. You have no idea who they are. You would not know them if they stood next to you, but you know their commericals. You know the ubiquitous Flo character that is hilarious on the Progressive car insurance commericals, that's Stefanie, a comedian in L.A. You know Pete also, from the funny E-trade commercials and the baby who talks..that is Pete doing the talking. Both are still auditioning for roles that will launch their a careers into films or TV shows, so far, it has not happened, yet, they earn good money from their commercials. Stef has filmed 53 commericals since 2007, her Facebook fans amount to 2.4 million.

Both and many more earn $592 a day plus residuals each time the ad runs on TV. Stef is earning an easy $125,000 or more for her TV ads. This has raised her previous existence from living in a one bedroom studio with a hand to mouth existence to, well, a life of no worries at all. Others have earned up to $300,000 for just making four Certs commericials.

The thing is that they are doing what they love to do and both still do stand-up comedy in clubs where patrons only pay $5 to get in. Neither has felt they have been discovered and know that maybe it will never come.

At least they have had a small taste of stardom.
