5 Top Teen Movies From The 90's You Can't Miss! Must-Watch!

Updated on June 19, 2013

These are probably the greatest teen movies from the 90's. The kind of movies that you're going to want to watch more than just once. If you feel like having a movie marathon, this list could be useful!

1. 10 Things I Hate About You

This is probably THE best teen movie of the 90's. The movie is cleverly written, funny, not all too cliche, and very enjoyable. Not your usual typical teen movie plot here. Great acting by the two leads, Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles. Other people in the movie were great as well, including the young Joseph Gordon-Levitt! Lots of people probably fell in love with Heath Ledger after watching this movie! No, he didn't play a popular guy in school yada yada, it's in fact the opposite of that, but he could still be likable and charming enough to make you fall in love with him! Watch the movie for the fun and the great actors in it!

American Pie is a movie that will make you laugh out loud or rolling on the floor laughing your head off. The movie is hilarious and very entertaining. The movie is about four friends on a mission to lose their virginity before they leave high school. The movie chronicles the journey of these four friends in exploring their sexual curiosity each in a different way and situation. This is a raunchy comedy and you must prepare yourself to tons of sexual jokes and certain level of nudity. A must-watch for teenagers out there who are still trying to discover their sexuality and sexual desires!

3. She's All That

I would say this is probably the third best 90's teen movie out there after 10 Things I Hate About You and American Pie. Loved the plot, the characters were great, Freddie Prinze, Jr. was so charming in this movie. Basically the movie is about a popular guy in school who gets dumped by his equally popular girlfriend, and then he's out to save his face by turning an unpopular geeky girl into a prom queen. Cliche, yes, predictable, yes, but Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Rachel Leigh Cook made it worthwhile to watch this movie. All in all, a very sweet teen movie!

4. Can't Hardly Wait

I love Ethan Embry, and I loved Ethan Embry in this movie! He was the reason I watched this movie and I ended up really liking this movie. It's a fun movie and it has some good laughs in it. You could probably relate to one or more characters in the movie, because the characters are pretty realistic. Seth Green was funny in the movie! You must've known one or two people like his character in the movie, a wannabe gangster/rapper, I personally know someone like that in high school and the portrayal of this character is hilarious! Watch it for the fun of it!

5. Whatever It Takes

I know, I know, this movie was released in 2000, so it's not really "from the 90's", but I just can't drop the movie from the list because it's one of my favorite teen movies. Also, it's the first ever James Franco movie that I watched! The movie itself is actually about an unpopular guy in school that helps a popular guy to get a girl, and in return, the popular guy helps the unpopular guy gets his own 'dream girl' in school. The movie is funny, sweet, cute, lighthearted, something that you won't mind watching over and over again.
