The Best Part Of Waking Up
The Best Part Of Waking Up Is Folgers In Your Cup
Ah... sweet morning... and the strong scent of fresh coffee is wafting up from the kitchen. Folgers coffee actually, just like in the commercials. It's the best part of waking up. The sun is shining and the promise of a new day is in front of me and I can smell the sweet sweet scent of coffee. Life couldn't be better than this. That jingle is going through my head and I think to myself, "Y'know, the best part of waking up IS actually Folgers in your cup".
Best Part Of Waking Up
But then...
Then, I look over at the angelic face of my darling wife. She is the mother of my children, my better half, my love. The sun is reflecting off her perfect skin. This woman loves me and is sharing her life with me. It is so wonderful to wake up next to her morning after morning that it makes me think that SHE is the best part of waking up. Just waking up next to my sweet wife. And so, really, Folgers is the second best part of waking up.
But then...
Then, I think about my uncomfortable legs as they are tucked under the rat terrier (as usual) who likes to burrow under the covers and/or up and over my legs. I spend a large portion of the night in a contorted position because of this dog. OK, not just the dog. It isn't just the rat terrier. It is also the cats. It's not like I mind disturbing them. It's just that they can't be disturbed. They just keep coming back for more and they are basically unrelenting lead weighted furbag menaces to my sleep. It is so sweet to kick the dog off my legs and push the cat on the floor and stretch out my legs in the early morning with that smell of coffee in the air. That part is really refreshing and rewarding. A tad better actually, than having that first cup of coffee. So really, after waking up to my angelic wife and then being able to stretch my pet hampered legs... Folgers is the third best part of waking up.
But then...
Then, as I lay there looking at my beautiful wife and enjoying the stretch of my legs and the back turned ears of that rat terrier, I feel that urge. You know the urge. The morning urge. To get rid of last night's coffee or other liquid indulgences. That becomes the main focus of the next few minutes. You don't even care about the smell of Classic Roast in the air anymore. Just the need for sweet relief. Which, let's face it, when you have to go that relief is very very good - even better than a morning cup of coffee. But right after that you want some coffee. And it smells so good. So then, the fourth best thing of waking up is actually Folger's in your cup. Finally.
