Sappiest love songs ever
The Sappiest love songs ever
Listening to music is comforting. It soothes the mind, heart and calm us. I don’t know but sometimes if I get lonely or sad, I will listen to a music then I feel like I am in another world again. Music brings me to a pure happiness and I just smile and close my eyes when I listen to my favorite music. Maybe it is a factor of age that as I grow older my choice of music becomes specific. I like listening to soft music. Most of all I love listening to love songs. As one singer has put it “love songs don’t leave you, but lovers sometimes do”. Well, as I like to listen to love songs I have listed love songs which are so sappy for my own taste. Sappy songs could be described by extremely sentimental, songs which are sad and appeals to the emotion. In particular, these songs make me laugh for a second, then I try to listen again, but it is just too sentimental for me--too sappy for my taste.
I am not a musician, am just a music lover so I am not going to pretend to analyze these songs in terms of rhythm, content etc. The ordering is from least sappiest to the most. After reading this article, you might want to leave comments if you agree with me. This is just my list and please feel free to comment, what I classify as sappy might not be for others.
5. Eric Clapton -- Tears in Heaven
(This song was dedicated to his son who died because he fell in an open window. The regret of not showing his love while he is still alive.)
Beyond the door
There's peace I'm sure.
And I know there'll be no more...
Tears in heaven
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven
Will it be the same
If I saw you in heaven
I must be strong, and carry on
Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven
Eric Clapton
4. Bryan Adams Everything I do I do it for you
This song is definitely for a person who is in love. It is begging for love of the someone you desire. "When you find me, you will search no more", offering their best, and up to the extent of saying that everything they do, they do it for the one they love.
Look into my eyes - you will see
What you mean to me
Search your heart - search your soul
And when you find me there you'll search no more
Don't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
You can't tell me it's not worth dyin' for
You know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you
Bryan Adams
3. Kenny Rogers -- Lady
The man who is in love here is dedicating the song to his lady love. He is telling his lady love that he want to be with her forever and that their love is like no other.
In my eyes I see no one else but you
There's no other love like our love
And yes, oh yes, I'll always want you near me
I've waited for you for so long
Lady, your love's the only love I need
And beside me is where I want you to be
'cause, my love, there's somethin' I want you to know
You're the love of my life, you're my lady!
Kenny Rogers
2. Jose Feliciano -- Once there was a love
This song depicts a love once experienced and then gone. A deep love characterized by the depth of an ocean and then the lover went away and the man was left describing the love they once shared. A love which is full of devotion, but it is all gone.
Once there was a love.
Deeper than any ocean
Once there was a love
filled with such a devotion.
It was yours and mine.
To hold and cherish
and to deep for a lifetime.
Then you wen't away
on that lonely day
Jose Feliciano
And the sappiest of them all:
1. Michael Bolton -- How am I supposed to live without you
This is finding an answer why the lover left his loved one. And he is confused how to live without her now that she is gone and begging her to tell him what to do because he is at loss.
Tell me how am I supposed to live without you
Now that I've been lovin' you so long
How am I supposed to live without you
How am I supposed to carry on
When all that I've been livin' for is gone
