Songs with the word NIGHT in the title (with youtube links)
Since I am a night person (I hate mornings), I thought this time I would list some songs dedicated to my favorite part of the day, night.
"Sunglasses at Night" by Corey Hart,...pure '80's drivel.
"One Night" by Elvis Presley. One of his more enduring tunes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tthEpLS69fo
"The Night the Lights Went Our in Georgia" by Vicki Lawrence. (Come on, you love it,...admit it,...) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrQvOvu_eRc
"Night of the Long Knives" by AC/DC, from the "For Those About to Rock" album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiyGgFV8kik
"Black Night" by Deep Purple,...gee, another DP track amongst my lists, go figure,... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK03tEKhFU8
"Lonely Ol' Night" by John Cougar Mellenhead,...I mean, Mellencamp. I actually like this offering from the goofball. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ju-rIMGPTmY
"Night Prowler" by AC/DC. The last track on Bon Scott's last AC/DC album, "highway to Hell". For some reason at the end of the song, Bon channels Robin Williams as Mork, going "Shezbot, nanu nanu",.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMbyeJaezIg
"Here Comes the Night" by the Beach Boys. I'm talking about the disco song they did in 1979, and not the cut from the "Wild Honey" album in 1967. I had never heard the latter until I did a google search, looking for the disco song, which I remember well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fANVUu5NiTo
"Undercover of the Night" by the Rolling Stones. The song is not one of their better cuts, but the video kicks butt. Something to do with a kidnapping in Central America. The video is much better than the song. Go watch it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVJkfXeTs9Q
"Night and Day" by Fred Astaire, Frank Sinatra, Dionne Warwick, and others. I remember it from an episode of the great British comedy series "Are You Being Served?".
"Nighttime is the Right Time" by Ray Charles. What a great blues and soul number by a legend, but more remembered today as the song the Huxtable family lip-synched to Cliff's parents in one of the funniest moments in the history of the Cosby Show. Go find the clip on youtube if you've never seen it, and even if you have,... ok, here's the clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSvGdfOfLFw
"When the Night Comes" by Joe Cocker. Phlegm and all, Cocker is one of my favorite singers, and this is one of better performances. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sr10bHO6Yo8
"Fly by Night" by Rush. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziDYVk5VxKc
"Night Flight" by Led Zeppelin, from the awesome "Physical Graffiti" album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qm-TaMqWo3U
Late addition, and I don't know how I missed this, "One More Saturday Night" by the Grateful Dead. It's my favorite Dead tune. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31wMSaT489Y
There's probably more, but that's it for me. Guess I'll go sit outside and watch the stars,...
