Top Five Love Songs of 2010
Top five Love Songs of 2010
The year is almost over, marking yet another year of great and diverse music. The question is, out of thousands and thousands of 2010 songs (and counting), which of them are the best in the love category? Which of them peeked high in the billboard charts, made you think of that special someone every time you heard it, and possibly made you sing-along with its enchanting lyrics and toe-tapping tune? Find out my top five love songs of 2010 and see if your pick made the list.
1. Just the Way You Are (Bruno Mars)
This current chart topper by newcomer Bruno Mars has been instilled in the hearts of many lovers. It’s important message of loving your partner for who he or she is one main factor that made this song so memorable.
Favorite Line: “Girl you’re amazing, just the way you are.”
2. Need You Now (Lady Antebellum)
This award-winning country music trio has been dominating the charts with their raw and mellow take on love songs. One of their best known this year is a soulful ballad of lost and longing entitled “Need You Now”. The vocal performances of lead singers Hillary Scott and Charles Kelly are wonderful and more powerful than their first album.
Favorite Line: “Guess I'd rather hurt than feel nothin' at all.”
3. Love the Way You Lie (Eminem featuring Rihanna)
Eminem has released not only one of the best love songs of the year, but one of the greatest songs of 2010. Though the theme may be unconventional for it to be a true love song, the lyrics speak about encompassing contempt and abuse and finally realizing that no matter the circumstances, love still always triumphs overall. And if that doesn’t convince you, it is also a song about finding a reason to love one another through a mountain of anger and resentment. Eminem is truly a master when it comes to defying genres.
Favorite Line: “Next time I’m pissed I’ll aim my fist at the drywall.”
4. Teenage Dream (Katy Perry)
Newly married Katy Perry has been dominating the charts with her new album “Teenage Dreams”. Now her second single from the album is one of the best songs of this year (and my personal favorite from her). Teenage Dream talks about going back to those puppy love preteen days and experiencing it whenever that special someone is close to you. It’s a sweet, feel good song that will make you reminisce the first day you saw your soul mate.
Favorite Line: “No regrets, just love.”
5. Nothin’ On You “B.O.B featuring Bruno Mars”
The first single of B.O.B’s debut album soared through the charts with this catchy beat, slick and clever wordplay, and an epic performance to boot. It is the ultimate song of the average day playboy proving to the one he loves that even with all the women and flirting surrounding him, nothing will change the fact that she is all he needs.
Favorite Line: “You’re my wonder woman, call me Mr. Fantastic.”
