Why Do People Stalk Celebrities?

Updated on September 29, 2016

Most people could care less about the personal lives of celebrities, but there are a few who are quite obsessed with the minutiae of celebrity births, photo shoot, date, engagement, wedding, and divorce. No wonder so many celebrities decide to keep their private life as private as possible because anything they say or do can be held up for scrutiny for years to come. Not only are the daily activities of celebrities often misinterpreted, but some of the more outlandish tabloid publications frequently go out of their way to stretch the truth to a far out whimsy. I remember in the 1980s reading one of those silly tabloid magazines that stating Boy George got married, but even as a seven-year-old I knew this magazine was just ridiculous. So why do people care about Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and Jennifer Aniston so much? The magazines and tabloid shows would lead you to believe that Aniston has been a nervous wreck since she broke up with Brad Pitt in 2005, but are we really supposed to believe this? Give her a break and it may be surprising to find out maybe she is happier without Brad Pitt. Also, it seemed that Brad and Angelina are a better couple than Brad and Jennifer ever were, so what is the harm in that? However, now Brad and Angelina are now splitting, so I guess there goes the rumor mill again. Honestly I am just bored with hearing about all the speculation regarding the celebrity canoodling, so I have thought about some more exciting topics for them to cover.

Ants On My Counter

Today I had to wash down my counter because I found some ants. I wonder if the paparazzi would like to come over and film me scrubbing down my counter. I wonder if four years from now they will still be wondering if I was sad about the day I had to spend scrubbing the counter rather than taking a walk outside.

I Had To Pay My Utility Bills Today

Here is another exciting topic for all the tabloid publications: today I had to pay my utility bills. Did I mention I would rather keep the heater off to avoid high utility bills, but my sister insists on turning it on more often than I do? When it gets too hot I simply turn off the thermostat off, and tell her to cover up with blankets if she is cold.

My sister is not happy about this, but at least our gas bill is only about thirty-six dollars a month and our electricity bill is only about twenty-two dollars per month. If I were living alone my utility bills would often be lower, but the added bonus of having a roommate means I can split the rent.

Only problem is our water bill is calculated by how much everyone uses in our building, so that one is more tricky. Are the tabloids going to publish five years from now that I had to pay my water bill today? Probably not.

Maybe I Will Sell My Guitar

Several years ago I thought it would be fun to learn how to play the guitar, but I never got around to it. My guitar sits in a corner and I tried to give it to my nephew, but his grandma bought him one a couple of years ago. Lately I have been thinking about selling my guitar, but I know this would upset my mom because she bought it for me. Oh well, I suppose I cannot sell it after all, but I know the paparazzi will not care about this.

Mundane And Inane

So I have just discussed a few mundane and inane topics from my daily adventures, which should get the paparazzi and celebrity gossip seekers pondering. Why do we really care who Jennifer Aniston is married to? I really wish they would just give her a break and I actually like her, Brad, and Angelina. However, I would only want to watch them in movies and not read about them every day. Every time I open my email I receive celebrity gossip news in the headlines, which makes me wonder if anyone else gets tired of it.
