    Star Wars vs. Harry Potter

These have both made their mark in the world. However, there are a lot of similarities, at least if we're looking at the last three Star Wars and Harry Potter. Luke and Harry are both orphaned, they both have to stop an even which is taking over their universe, they both have special magic. So which one are you about? Hogwarts or the school of the Jedi? The Empire or Vuldemort? Science Fiction or Fantasy?

I tend toward the original trilogy of Star Wars, but I am just old school like that.

They are pretty awesome. I just completed watching them last night actually. Not for the first time of course, but it was the first time seeing them digitally remastered. It could do without some of the add-ins

Yeah they go a bit nuts with that stuff. It is almost why it is sort of promising that Disney bought the franchise for the next movie. George Lucas just wants to make money without making a new and worthwhile product.

The problem is whether or not Disney will stay true to Lucas's notes or the books. I know a great deal of die-hard fans who won't be pleased if they ignore the books

I wouldn't be too worried about Disney straying too far. Disney bought Marvel, and the Marvel movies are pretty true to the books, and well better than what some of the other studios did with them.

I love magic as much as the next person, but I'm gonna have to go with giant space ships and the force on this one.  Dumbledore doesn't have squat on Yoda wink

Star Wars all the way.  Harry Potter is the worst protagonist.  He always just ambles incompetently through the plot going "Ohhh no I have no idea what to do and I'm too afraid to do any of it!" and then all his friends pull together and do everything for him.  Again. *_*

It would be Star Wars hands down. As great and as powerful the majik of Hogwarts is, the Force combined with the brute strength of the Empire would crumble that place in a matter of seconds.  Could you imagine the Death Star in range of that place? It will be a victorious day for our glorious Empire. smile
