He has already acted in several movies and dramas and the diversity of the roles he has taken on is quite impressive. In 2010 he won the Best Actor award at the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival in Spain for his work in arthouse film Paju. He also won a Golden Acting Award at the 2007 MBC Drama Awards for his role in White Tower.

Who is Lee Sun Gyun? - A short biography of the talented Korean actor.
South Korean actor Lee Seon-gyoon was born on March 2, 1975. He took up acting and graduated from the Korea National University of Arts. In 2001, he debuted in the musical The Rocky Horror Show.
Lee graduated from the Korea National University of Arts and took up acting at the Seoul Unification Arts Institute. His acting debut was in the musical The Rocky Horror Show in 2001. Since then, he appeared in several dramas and movies in supporting roles but he finally attained lead actor status in 2007 with MBC's popular romantic TV series The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince and the critically-acclaimed medical drama White Tower.
Among his recent projects are the TV series Pasta in which he plays a tough and headstrong Italy-trained chef who falls in love with the kitchen assistant / junior cook; K-drama Triple which reunited him with Lee Yoon-jung (director of Coffee Prince and Taereung National Village); a Jeonju Digital Project short by arthouse director Hong Sang-soo; and Paju for which he won a Best Actor award at the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival in Spain.
According to the film's producer TPS Company, the film festival in Spain awarded Lee the best male actor for his restrained tone of acting which well expressed the agony of a man who has fallen in love with his wife's sister.
Lee was appointed as ambassador for the Health Insurance Review Agency in 2007 and he also won an award from the Korean Advertisers' Association in 2008.

Coffee Prince is based on a romance novel titled Coffee Prince Ilhojeom by Seon-mi Lee. Go Eun Chan (Yoon Eun Hye) is a tomboyish girl who tries to make ends meet by taking on various jobs. She meets food mogul Choi Han Kyul (Gong Yoo) who mistakes her for a boy and hires her to work in his coffee shop. Hilarity and heartbreak ensues when they fall for each other before he even learns that she is a woman after all. Soft-spoken music producer Choi Han Seong (Lee Sun Gyun) enters the picture and forms a bizarre love triangle with the two although he has love problems of his own with his longtime sweetheart Han Yoo Joo (Chae Jung Ahn).
