The Academy of Western Artist's 2011 Western Female Performer of the Year
I attended the Mary Kaye live performance last night at Entrada Institute's Torrey Cowboy Poetry & Music Festival in Torrey, UT. She is an outstanding live performer - storyteller - singer. If you are involved in a similar western performance venue, I encourage you to consider Mary Kaye as one of your performers. Her back story is very special with her ten natural children and her manager husband who travels with her.
I took this photo inside the Robber's Roost Bookstore where the Festival moved because of inclement weather.

Since we last saw Mary Kaye in concert, as reported earlier in this lens, she has won several more awards, has appeared in 15 states and Canada, and has a new album out, "The Dawn and The Dusk." Hope you check it out. She is a fabulous entertainer and a fine person, as well.

Earlier Awards for Mary Kaye
In 2010 Mary Kaye was named Female Vocalist of the Year by the Western Music Association (WMA).
In 2010 she also won the Crescendo Award for Best New Artist. She had seven WMA nominations that year, two of which were for two new songs.

Amazon Spotlight on new Mary Kaye CD
This is the January 2012 released newest CD, No Wilder Place. There is a haunting Butch Cassidy ballad, Jenny's point of view in "Night Riders Lament," along with a cowboy love song, two great western swing songs, and really neat story of baby's growing up to be cowboys.
