My Personal Review of the Movie Ted

I know what your thinking, who wants to watch a movie about a grown-up whose best friend is a teddy bear? I know this is what you are thinking because it was exactly what I was thinking when I went to the theater last year to watch this movie with my husband and our friends. However, once you realize the main character in this movie is the adorably hunky Mark Wahlberg, and that his teddy bear best friend is a foul-mouthed, perverted, obnoxious talking teddy bear, you will likely become a bit more interested...I know I did.

A Review of the Movie Ted

In the film, we met John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) and John's girlfriend, Lori (Mila Kunis). John and Lori have been together for four years and Lori is anxiously waiting for John to grow up and totally commit to their relationship. Lori's biggest concern is Ted (Seth McFarlane), a talking teddy bear that John has had since childhood.

A talking teddy bear you say? Well, as a child John was incredibly lonely and had no friends except for his teddy bear companion. After a Christmas wish came true, Ted came to life and John and Ted have been inseparable since. However, Ted isn't your average lovable teddy bear. Instead, this furry delinquent swears, drinks beers, dabbles in illegal substances, and likes to conjugate with beautiful women.

At her wit's end, Lori gives John an ultimatum, either her or Ted. John struggles with the decision, and hates that he has to decide between his best friend and the love of his life.

To see who John chooses to be with for the rest of his life, make sure to check out Ted on DVD.

Ted 2 is Coming!

If you loved the adorable Thunder Buddies, you will be glad to know there is a 2nd Ted movie coming to theaters. In the sequel, set to hit theaters, June 26, 2015, Ted is a recently married live action teddy bear that wants to add Dad to his list of accomplishments. However, to achieve parenthood, Ted must prove he is a responsible adult. If you know of Ted's antics from the first film, you already realize this may be an impossible task.

Ted 2 is Better than the First

After watching the first Ted movie, I immediately knew there would be a sequel. Whether I would watch it or not remained a mystery. As I predicted, Mark and his raunchy Thunder Buddy headed back to the theaters for a sequel.

Much to my dismay, I actually wanted to watch the sequel. I waited for it to hit DVD and watched it. I can't believe I'm about to admit this, but it was good. There was still a ton of drug and sex comedy but the sequel had a better plot than the original movie.

In addition to a better plot, there is a lot less raunchiness in the sequel, which makes it easier to watch. All in all, it was a good movie for those times you just want to LOL without having to think very hard.
