Rapture by Anita Baker
Album Rapture by Anita Baker is one of those R&B music albums which you may want to listen to again and again. For me it's something special. After a long day Anita Baker shifts me in some other world. Her smooth vocal and interpretation goes through all toughness which I've had to built to survive and operate in this stiff world. It goes deep under and touches the hidden and most sensitive parts of my soul, melts me and I come in touch with my feelings again.
These sensual love songs are smoothing and tickling at the same time. With this subtle musical provocation it is perfect for listening to with loved one and of course by yourself alone. Be very cautious if you're listening to this album by yourself. It can cause severe symptoms of loneliness. Just kidding ... Anita Baker and all those excellent musicians in band on this album create such a wonderful atmosphere that you want to share it with someone else, especially with those close to you.
Although I was young at the time when the album Rapture was released (March 20, 1986), I've "discovered" it much later and now as a grown up I'm still in love with this music. It is absolute timeless ...
Anita Baker has earned (and I mean: she has really earned) two Grammy Awards for this album. One was for the Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and the other was for the Best R&B Song - "Sweet Love". Can you imagine that from the album with eight songs, five of them were hits in those times? They are - Sweet Love, Caught Up in the Rapture, Watch Your Step, Same Ole Love and No One in the World. Amazing songs and work! Congratulations to all musicians from this point in time.
Of course, each of us have our own favorite song and I hope that you'll find, if you still don't have, your favorite one on this album Rapture. Enjoy in this perfect music performed by Anita Baker and her fellow musicians!
Take some of these beautiful songs with you ...
