Not So Lazy Days: Liza Colby Sound performs at Summer Concert Series
Field Trip
Before tonight, Liza Colby was a character on my favorite soap opera. Now, the name has new meaning.
The boys and I decided to see the concert at the Promenade shopping center. I've been trying to convince them to go ever since their free Summer Concert Series started this month, and today they finally agreed to go. (I'm not dragging my kids to a concert they aren't happy about in the first place.)
The band performing tonight was the Liza Colby Sound. They are the perfect mix of rock and soul. Lead singer Colby is joined by Adam Roth on guitar, Alec Morton on bass and C.P. Roth on drums.
At first, the boys weren't too happy with the music, but once we moved a little farther away from the speakers, they started to enjoy it. In fact, the little one told me once we were home that his favorite song was "Shake," the last song in the first set.
We only stayed for the first set so the kids could get to bed at a normal hour, but I think we all wish we could have stayed longer.
About the Not So Lazy Days series
I've challenged myself to find a new activity to do five days a week every week of the kids' summer vacation. Activities will fall under one of three categories: Arts & Crafts, Sports & Games or Field Trips. Follow me on Twitter @readallaboutsam for immediate updates on posts!
