A Delicious Crock Pot Chili Recipe
Delicious Crock Pot Chili Recipe
If your looking for a delicious one pot chili recipe for the crock pot then you've found one of the best crock pot chili recipes you will ever find. I've had several people ask me for a crock pot recipe for chili so here it is.
You will need a 6 - 8 quart crock pot or slow cooker for this recipe and I would suggest you need to buy a crock pot or slow cooker with low , medium , high , keep warm , settings. Ideally you should purchase a crock pot where the interior crock or pot can be removed.
In this delicious crock pot chili we are going to use three meats in our chili. They are country back ribs ( pork ) , ground pork and ground beef. You will want 2 pounds of each and you will want to cut your country back ribs up into one inch cubes. You will want to brown all your meat in a large skillet and drain away all the grease and drippings well before you add the cooked and browned meat to your crock pot.
Now you will want to cook 2 cups each green bell peppers , celery , and sweet onion cut into very small pieces in a skillet in vegetable oil until your vegetables are tender before you add the cooked vegetables to your crock pot.
Now to your crock pot your going to want to add.
1. 2 Cups Whole Kernel Corn.
2. 2 15 - 16 Ounce Cans White Kidney Beans.
3. 2 15 - 16 Ounce Cans Red Kidney Beans.
4. 2 15 - 16 Ounce Cans Black Beans.
5. 2 15 - 16 Ounce Cans Diced Tomatoes with Chilies.
6. 1 15 Ounce Can Tomato Sauce.
7. 2 Six Ounce Cans Tomato Paste.
8. 2 Cups Beef Broth.
9. 2 Tablespoons Ground Fresh Garlic.
10. 1 Teaspoon Cumin.
11. 1/4 Cup Chili Powder.
12. 1 Teaspoon Ground Cayenne Pepper.
Once you have all the ingredients added to the crock pot stir it all up well and cook on high for 6 hours and then reduce heat to low for 2 more hours.
Be sure that before you add it to the crock pot that all your meats are browned and your vegetables are cooked to tender. This is very important.
Your chili should thicken while it is cooking. If it gets to thick for you add more beef broth a little at a time. For me the spices are perfect the way I have them but it will have a hint of fire so you may want to add more ground cayenne pepper if you want it hotter or leave the cayenne pepper out all together if you want no fire. Some people will also want to add salt and black pepper. I suggest you use ground sea salt for the best flavor.
Once your crock pot chili is done I suggest serving it in bowls over squares of Jiffy Corn Bread Mix topped with sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese. You may also want to serve thin sliced jalapenos , diced sweet onions , or etc. What ever toppings you would like to serve on or with your chili is fine.
