Alcohol and Soda: Quick and Easy Mixed Drinks - Apple Pie and Other Mix Recipes

Updated on January 13, 2013

There are infinite combinations of fluids which make very delicious drinks. However, I like carbonated drinks a lot and have been combining sodas and alcohol to come up with good drinks. In this I will outline good combinations I have found as well as some tips and tricks to follow. I suggest specific brands but of course you can get any brand you want that has similar flavor.

The best thing about this combination is soda is cheap and definitely extends your alcohol supply, plus makes it so it tastes better for those guests (or yourself) who enjoy delicious drinks rather than just straight alcohol.

Tips and Tricks

Be sure to know what you like and experiment! There are millions of combinations and you can always find something new to love.

Be sure to be careful around certain flavors. Cherry and Grape are specific flavors that you may want to be wary of. Cough syrup is a mix of said flavor and alcohol, so you may soon feel like you are drinking a glass of cough syrup.

Don't buy the best. When mixing with soda the more fine alcohols will be deluded and degraded - you are only as good as your lowest quality ingredient. Don't buy 100 dollar vodka to put in a 1 dollar drink.

Adjust alcohol as you deem fit. Everyone has different tastes, and everyone has different tolerances. Add more, add less - experimentation is key to making what you love.

The White Gummy Bear

This drink amazingly tastes like a white gummy bear. Here is what you need:

3 shots of Peach Shnapps
3 shots of Raspberry Vodka
2 parts of any Lemon Lime Soda
1.5 shots of Sweet and Sour (Optional)

Shake carefully or mix and you have yourself a delicious drink.

Apple Pie A'la Mode

This one tastes like a cool slice of apple pie with vanilla ice cream:

1 part Dr. McGillicuddy's Apple Pie
~3 parts Cream Soda

Stir to combine and you have a fast delicious drink that will surprise guests and be a great conversation starter.

Black Cherry Cola

This tastes like a very fine Cherry Cola and is quite refreshing:

1 part Caruzan Rum Black Cherry
1 part Cola

So simple, yet so crisp. This is the best cherry rum I have ever tasted.

Fine, Aged Cola

This combination of alcohol and soda gives a nice warm yet refreshing flavor:

1 Part Captain Morgans Reserve Rum
2 parts Vanilla Cola

The Best Rum and Coke

Tattoo by Captain Morgan seems to be made for cola, you should definitely try it!

1 part Tattoo
2 parts Cola

The Cremecicle

Nice refreshing Orange and Creme is a great way to cool off when it is hot out.

1 part French Kiss (Vanilla Liquor)
2 parts Orange Soda

Try it, and you are guaranteed to love it.

Have Fun!

Of course, always drink responsibly. This should give you a good idea of some starting points for mixed drinks - most of which are very simple and all of which are delicious.
