Dried Beef Cheese Ball
Dried Beef Cheese Ball
One Great Cheese Ball
This cheese ball is very tasty and this recipe is courtesy of my wonderful hubby, Nathan. It has dried beef and onion chopped up fine. The cheese base for this cheese ball is cream cheese. Also incorporated into this cheese ball is horseradish to give it a zesty flavor. You combine all these incredible flavors into one scrumptious cheese ball and roll it in pecans or walnuts and/or parsley and chives if you wish. This makes an excellent addition to any party or shower. It makes a good appetizer or an excellent dish for a finger foods event. Try it on club crackers or wheat thins. Yummy!
Making a Cheese Ball
Cook Time
Ingredients
- 1 8 oz blocks cream cheese, softened
- 1 jar dried beef, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1/2 to 1 tsp prepared horseradish, (to taste, but it is like wasabi, a little goes a long way)
- 1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped
Directions
- Soften the cream cheese prior to making this recipe. Let it soften at room temperature. DO NOT MICROWAVE.
- Use a food processor to dice the dried beef and the onion up into small pieces.
- On wax paper, use your hands to mix in the dried beef/onion mixture into the block of cream cheese. Be sure to mix well so that every bite of cheese ball has meat in it.
- Once mixed good, add horseradish and mix again. Start forming it into a ball.
- Pour pecans out on a clean sheet of wax paper and roll the cheese ball around to cover in nuts.
- Refrigerate at least 2 hours but overnight is better so the flavors blend in. Serve with crackers. Yum!
