15 minute Creamy Garlic & Mushroom Stuffed Bread

15 mins to make, serves 4

Ingredients

Vegetarian

Produce

  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 8 Mushrooms, small
  • 1 Parsley to serve, fresh

Condiments

  • 1 tbsp Mayonnaise

Baking & Spices

  • 1 pinch Black pepper, freshly ground

Bread & Baked Goods

  • 4 part Petit pains or rolls, baked

Dairy

  • 1/2 cup Cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup Mature cheddar cheese, firmly packed grated
  • 2 tbsp Sour cream

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 200c/400f.
  2. Take the part baked rolls out of the packaging and place on a chopping board. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut out an oblong hole from the top of the rolls. Scoop out the bread, ensuring you don’t piece the bottom of the rolls. Place the rolls on a baking tray. Discard the scooped out bread (or save and cook later with some drizzled on garlic butter)
  3. Mix together the mushrooms, cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise and garlic in a bowl. Stir in half the cheese and the black pepper. Spoon the mixture into the bread rolls and top with the remaining cheese.
  4. Place in the oven and cook for 10 minutes – until the bread and cheese is golden brown.
  5. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.

Cheese and Garlic Crack Bread (Pull Apart Bread)

30 mins to make, serves 8-10

Ingredients

Vegetarian

Produce

  • 2 Garlic cloves, large
  • 1 tbsp Parsley, fresh

Baking & Spices

  • 3/4 tsp Salt

Bread & Baked Goods

  • 1 Loaf, crusty

Dairy

  • 100 g Butter, unsalted
  • 3/4 cup Mozzarella cheese

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F.
  2. Combine butter, garlic and salt in a heatproof bowl and melt in the microwave. Stir through parsley.
  3. Cut the bread on a diagonal into 2cm/1" diamonds but do not cut all the way through the bread (just like you would cut a french stick for garlic bread).
  4. Use your fingers or a knife to pry open each crack and drizzle in a teaspoon of butter and stuff in a pinch of cheese. This might sound like a bit of an effort, but I promise you it is worth it! You don't need to be super neat, it's nice to have some of the butter drizzled over the crust.
  5. Wrap with foil and bake for 15minutes until the cheese has mostly melted, then unwrap and bake for 5 minutes more to make the bread nice and crusty.
  6. Serve immediately.
