Honey Drizzled Fall Figs Wrapped In a Blanket
The Fig
Stuffed Figs
I went in my back yard and noticed I had several figs that were ready to pick. With so many figs in my hands I began to ponder what I could do with my new bounty. After hours of meditation and recipe reading i came up with this easy recipe to cook on the grill while I cooked the chicken that I would be cooking for dinner tonight.
Wash the figs and split them in half. Stuff the center with as much goat cheese as you can get in the halves.
Wrap each half with a small strip of bacon and dust with black pepper. i also put on a dusting of Chipotle Powder for a kick of smoke flavor and spice but you don't have to if you like mild. Put them on a tray that will fit on your grill. Cook the halves on the grill using indirect heat at about 325 F for an hour or until the bacon gets crispy.
When the halves are done and cooled down mix a dash of pumkin pie spice with a little honey and drizzle on the halves.
Eat them up or pass them out, they are not your everyday snack but they are very tasty. The sweet honey on the savory bacon is a winner every time.
You will need:
Figs
Bacon
Goat Cheese
Black Pepper
Chipotle Powder (Optional) Just because it's optional doesn't mean skip it!
1/4 cup Honey
1/8 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
