Healthy Green Tea
A friend of mine shared this recipe with me. It was recommended by her doctor to help with diabetes, weight loss and digestive issues. I have found it very useful for weight loss and general digestive tract health.
The Recipe
Buy large family size green tea bags, with or without the caffeine. Any brand will do. Boil a pot of water and soak the tea bags until the strength of the tea is right for you. I like my tea weaker than most people.
Use a large pitcher for your tea, preferably a gallon container. Pour the tea into the pitcher and add water until the pitcher is full. I pour the additional water over the tea bags for more tea flavor. You will need one medium sized lime for each pitcher of tea. Cut the lime in half and squeeze every drop of juice from the lime into the tea. This is a very important ingredient. Add 1/4 cup of pure maple syrup to the tea for sweetening and stir well. Chill and serve or serve over ice.
Hot Tea
I have been heating hot green tea first thing in the morning. It makes the best morning drink and is perfectly sweetened. A minute and a half in the microwave is all it takes. The lime adds the tang I like and the maple syrup is not too strong. Yum!

By sipping on this tea each day for the last two months and eliminating all diet sodas, I have lost twelve pounds in eight weeks without any major changes to my diet. I consume a half gallon of tea per day in addition to several glasses of water and keep a pitcher of the tea mixture in the refrigerator. My appetite has drastically diminished and I feel great. I highly recommend that you try this recipe this summer! The tea is refreshing and good for you! Enjoy!
