To make this Coleslaw recipe, I purchase pre-prepared packages of shredded cabbage. In this recipe, I used two bags of cabbage. To make your recipe, finely chop one-half of a medium sized onion. Chop up one fourth of a large green pepper. Add these items to your cabbage. Add at least two cups of raisins for sweetness. Mix well. For a dressing, you can use Coleslaw dressing, any brand, or Vidalia Onion Dressing for a bold onion taste by Otts. I used about three fourths of a bottle of Vidalia dressing in my coleslaw. Feel free to mix the Coleslaw dressing and Vidalia Onion dressing for a milder taste. Poppy seed dressing is also good with this recipe. Salt and pepper to taste. To sweeten, add more raisins.
This coleslaw takes little time and very tasty. I first made it for a potluck dinner and my family loved it. This is a great side dish with BBQ. With the Vidialia Dressing, it is slightly spicy. Enjoy your new creation!

A New Approach
Try using crushed pineapple in your slaw. Use half of the raisins and add a can of crushed pineapple minus the juice. For added moisture, use a tablespoon or two of pineapple juice while mixing your salad. Decorate with pineapple halves. Your family and guests will love this dish! Enjoy!
