How To: The Incredible Seven Layer Dip!
You will love this because....♥
What is your favorite party serving dish? I know mine is the original seven layer dip! I serve this dip at all parties and family gatherings; it’s a must to bring. Seven layer dip is a classic recipe! It’s simple and easy to do! Takes approximately 30 minutes to make! Depending on who you are serving it too, then I suggest you either add more salsa or your favorite spice to give it a better feel. I like to add a little bit milder salsa to mine, but other than that I love everything about this recipe. In my family I know everyone is in love with all kinds of dips, appetizers, and snack foods. Well seven layer dip pretty much goes into any of those three categories! When I make this dish I like to serve it with Mexican tortilla chips, they add more salt to the taste which gives it even more flavor! Seven Layer Dip has layers of; beans, shredded cheese, ground beef, sour cream, guacamole, salsa. You can sprinkle more cheese, black olives, tomatoes and even green onions on the top. Doesn't that just sound delicious?! I think so! If you haven't tried this great dip out yet, then you must! Make it yourself and serve it at a party. You could even bring this to a party and be the one who brought the hot dip! Give it a try and I know that once you have tried this you will be making it again and again just like me! I got started on this dip in my first year of high school; a friend of mine brought it to our food science class! Everyone asked how she made it and if we could have her recipe, I was the first to ask so she gave me a copy. My friend told me how simple and easy this recipe and it truly was! I'm so thankful for her giving it to me. I have had this recipe now for years and years. I love everything about it! The black olives are my favorite (I always add more that’s my secret) :) This recipe you can completely turn into your own, I changed a few things to make it more my taste. I did this by adding more black olives and milder salsa also less guacamole. You will all love this recipe as much as I do! Please give it a shot! Add your own favorite ingredients and try it out! You could even make a 7 layer dessert! Whatever you decide to do I hope you have fun in the process enjoy the recipe and thanks for reading :)
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 (16 ounce) can refried beans (I used black beans)
4 cups shredded Cheddar-Monterey Jack cheese blend (choose your favorite cheese!)
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
1 cup guacamole
1 cup salsa (For more taste go for a spicy salsa)
1 (2.25 ounce) can black olives, chopped
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup chopped green onions ( I do not always add green onions)
Directions:
Step one: Brown ground beef or whichever meat you choose, and drain after cooking, then once done set aside.
Step two: Place your beans as your first layer on the bottom of a 9X13 pan (average size). After putting beans on you will want to put only two cups of cheese on top of your beans.
Step three: For your third layer you will need to put your meat on top of your sprinkled cheese.
Step four:Once you have placed your meat on then you will put your sour cream, do this process slowly because you do not want your sour cream in one place and spreading it around could get messy so be careful!
Step five: Then you will need to add your guacamole. Remember a little guacamole can go a long way so be precautious when you do this step and don't get carried away.
Step six: Add salsa! Remember to pick a salsa that you and your family will like! Once that is done you are almost finished! After that you will want to add the rest of your cheese, and add your black olives tomatoes and onions! You have now finished your seven layer dip! You can put it in your fridge over night or serve it at room temperature. I prefer to put it in the fridge to blend all of those great flavors and get a really great taste!
Step seven: You thought I was done? You were wrong! Step seven is to eat your delicious home made dip! Get your favorite chips and snack away with friends and family! Let me know how it works out thanks soo much for reading! Good luck:)
