Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza
What kid doesn't love cheeseburgers? And what kid doesn't LOVE pizza?? Well, with this recipe you can keep the kids happy and give them BOTH,in one dinner!
Cook Time
Ingredients
- 3 cups bread flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 package (1/4 oz.) quick rise yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound 90% lean round beef
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 jar (10 ounces) sun dried tomato pesto
- 1 red onion (large), chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh bacon bits
- 1 cup (4 ounces) mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup (4 ounces) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a bowl. Add in oil and water. Form a firm dough, adding flour only as needed.
- Put your dough onto a lightly floured surface,to prevent sticking while forming the dough. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic,or about 6 to 8 minutes. Cover and let sit for 10 minutes.
- While dough is resting, cook your beef, garlic, and pepper over medium heat until meat is browned. Drain.
- Using a floured surface, roll pizza dough into a 15 inch circle. Carefully move dough onto a 14 inch greased pizza pan. Pinch the edges of the crust slightly, building a sort of wall so toppings don't escape. Prick the dough numerous times with a fork. Bake at 450 degrees for 5 to 8 minutes, until browned lightly.
- Remove the crust from the oven, and sprinke crust with parmesan cheese. Top with pesto, meat mixture, onion, bacon bits, and cheeses. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until cheese is melted.
