Serbian corn-bread
Tradition
Serbian Corn-Bread, in Serbian language "Проја", is an ancient dish which is made from coarsely milled corn flour, salt and water. Today there are various kinds of it and to make it even tastier, combine it with cheese, pepper and "ajvar". The last one ("ajvar") will be explained in my next hub.
Cook Time
Ingredients
- half a liter of water
- one teaspoon of salt
- as needed cornmeal
- Pour water and salt and then slowly add cornmeal in order to get a mixture of medium density. Then, pour the mixture into a greased mold and bake at 120-150 degrees until it becomes golden brown. If you prefer smaller ones, buy a small mold for muffins and grease it with some margarine and pour the dough. You can serve it with cheese and Serbian cream. Bon appetit!
