Simple Beef Noodle Recipe
Introduction
When I was growing up in Taiwan, one of the best home made meal is a beef noodle soup. It is simple with lots of flavor and comfort food.

How To Make It
Ingredients:
- two shank of beef
- 1 tomato
- 3 scallion stalks
- 4 slices of fresh ginger
- 5 or 6 star aniseed
- half cup of soy sauce
- 1 tsp of sugar
- 1 tsp of sesame oil
- Dry milk noodles
- diced scallion
All ingredients can be bought in any Chinese groceries store.
How to make it:
Slice beef shank to about half inches think. place in large pot of water along with all the ingredients. Slice tomato into wedges. Bring to boil and remove all stuff floating on top. Turn heat down to low and slow cook for approx. 2 hours. That's it.
Cook the noodles in a pot, follow directions on package. About 5 minutes cook time. Don't over cook the noodles.
Drain the noodle. Place in large bowl. Add the beef along with broth. Sprinkle with scallion and some sesame oil. Optional, for people who like spicy foods, you can add some hot sauce.
Enjoy a hot soup meal!
Summary
As with many recipes I write, they don't have to be fancy or expensive or difficult or time consuming. In fact, it is my believe that the best foods are the simple ones we can make in our kitchen and the ones that brings back memories from our youth. This dish would make a great lunch meal.
