History of Butterfinger
Butterfingers were invented by the Blair Shipper Company in Chicago, Illinois in 1923. The name was chosen from a contest to name the candy bar. When the candy was first introduced, as an early marketing scheme, airplanes flew over several cities in the United States and dropped the candy bars around the city from the sky. Then, in 1981, Nabisco bought Butterfingers from the company and then in 1990 Nabisco sold Butterfingers to the Nestle Company.
