Texas Land and Cattle Steak House
My Incredible Steak Dinner
Eating at the Texas Land and Cattle Steak House in Branson
Eating at the Texas Land and Cattle Steak House in Branson Missouri is a wonderful experience. Our family has been there twice now and both times we enjoyed it very much. In fact, going back to the Branson area again recently, it was a no brainer on where to go for a great steak dinner there. It has just about all the elements one could want in a restaurant. It was so good, that I had to write about my experience to share it with others.
They have all kinds of steaks, seafood, chicken, and you can view their menu for lunch or dinner online rather easily and get an idea of what they have. If you are a steak lover, you will love this restaurant.
When you order a steak, you choose the cut first. Then they give a list of spice options, then sauce options and toppings. The toppings are an additional cost of course. A good steak needs nothing extra actually, so I liked it that they put the my sauce in a little cup on the side. I chose a 12oz boneless rib-eye steak, after much deliberation! My husband chose a 12 oz New York Strip. I chose to have truffle salt as the spice, and a red wine demi sauce with my rib-eye steak. My husband chose adobo seasoning, and Texas chimichurri sauce for his.
You get to pick one side with your steak, but it is substantial. We got chicken tortilla soup, and a dinner salad and fresh bread and butter before the meal also. If I had any comment that wasn't a raving review, it would be that the blue cheese dressing tasted a bit more sweet and not too much like blue cheese to me. I wondered if I may have gotten a ranch or something similar, to be fair. I can't imagine they wouldn't have a great blue cheese dressing there.
As for side dishes, they are absolutely so amazing, you would be surprised. I mean, it is even hard to pick the side you want, as they all sound so good. After speaking some with the waitress, we both decided on the creamed corn, which surprised me. It was her favorite, and they cut the corn fresh from the cob and use real cream, etc. It was the most excellent choice to be made, I imagine, for it was out of this world as far as taste goes. in fact, my husband said he wishes that he could go back sometime and just try several of their sides, for his meal! He was serious. He loves their sides that much. I can understand that, except that I would have missed out on my steak, which I come to now.
Oh my goodness, the boneless rib-eye I had that night was simply incredible. First, let me explain that I waver between medium, and medium rare, when asked how I like my steak cooked. I explained to the waitress what I was thinking, and she said that she would put down on the order that I wanted it medium rare, but leaning toward medium if there was any leaning to be done. She put medium rare, medium, and hoped they knew what she meant. That is a tall order by the way! They actually pulled this off perfectly, and I don't know how.
Next, the flavor about knocked me out, I kid you not! It was like you take a bite and almost pause because you can't believe it tastes so good. The little bit of crispiness on the outside of the steak, where the flavor kind of congregates was amazing. I know rib-eyes are known for their amazing flavor, and the trade off is kind of a higher fat content. Still, the flavor of this rib-eye was out of this world. It could have been the truffle salt, in part, but the cut itself was amazing. In sharing a bite, my husband agreed, and was very impressed. I wish everyone that eats and likes steak could try this steak. It was so perfect in every way, that I had to tell our server and the host that it was just wonderful. They said they would make sure to tell the chef, and I hope they did!
My side of creamed corn was so good, I am not sure how to explain that either, but if ever in doubt, try it, even over all the other amazing options of corn. It was a very hearty portion as well, that I could not finish.
Inside and Outside of the Restaurant
What is neat about this particular location is it is right along a river in Branson, at the Landing outdoor mall there. It is an experience in itself, shopping in the Branson Landing. This restaurant, in my opinion, is in a prime location there, where you can see the hourly fountain and light shows at night, and fountains in the day. People wait to see it and love it. I saw some taking special photos in front of the fountain light show there, which has the river as a backdrop right behind.
What really made the experience all the more wonderful, was that we could watch the World Series game going on between the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox! They have a nice bar area off to one side, and several large screen televisions going. We didn't need to sit in the bar to see them either. We were seated in a very roomy booth. The service by our waitress was top notch as well.
This is a nice place to take someone very special, and there are many other restaurants there to choose from if you are in the mood for say Mexican food, or Italian, Irish, etc. They have many different ones to choose from.
So you can see why I had to share this experience. It was a relatively short amount of time, but it was very very nice, and not too crazy expensive for the treat that it was. The Landing and this restaurant in particular come with very high ratings!
