WHY RESTAURANT AND CATERING BUSINESS?

Restaurant business and catering happens to be one of those sectors that were not affected by the heat of global financial crisis and will continue to be so. People will always eat and drink as long as there is still a dime within their reach. They may be going through all kinds of financial crisis but will still find something to eat and drink. Restaurant business and catering are not only safe from global economic meltdown but, are also very lucrative and rewarding.

You can make up to 300% pure profit on investment in restaurant business. In as much as the above remains true, restaurant business and catering still have their own downsides. One of the major downsides of a restaurant business is the stress that is associated with it. It is also almost impossible for an adequate internal control to be established and maintained in restaurant business and catering.

I will be sharing my over 22 years of operating a restaurant business. My parents started restaurant business when I was only 7 days old. This means that I was born into restaurant business and spent all my holidays as a student working in the restaurant. I even did part of my youth service (NYSC) working in the restaurant and immediately took over the business from my parents after acquiring my first degree in Accounting. So, sit tight and enjoy

SUCCEEDING IN RESTAURANT BUSINESS

Succeeding in restaurant business and catering is not a rocket science. Is just like every other businesses. Take care of these aspects and you will be fine.

CUSTOMER CARE

Restaurant business and catering is more of a service business than commodity business. No matter how tasty your food is, without a proper customer care, you will sooner or later loose them all. They need to enjoy their money to the core. Give it to them and see them remain loyal.

TASTE OF THE FOOD

Make sure that the food tastes fine. if you as a person don’t know how to cook, learn to do it or employ someone do it for you. After all, to be a successful entrepreneur, you don’t have to be good at every thing.

LOOKS OF THE FOOD

The looks of the food must be attractive for people to be moved into eating it in the first place. Imagine how you will feel when you are presented with a plate of food that looks like what is meant for pigs. I bet you will not even have the mind to taste it in the first place.

THE ENVIRONMENT OF THE RESTAURANT

The environment of the restaurant has to be clean at all times for the customers to come and keep coming. Or would you rather prefer going to have dinner at an un-kept place?

FRESHNESS AND HOTNESS OF FOOD

Make sure that foods cooked in your restaurant are always fresh. Don’t! I repeat don’t ever serve them will left over foods. If you do, they will all run away.

PREPARING THE FOOD WITHIN THE SIGHT OF THE CUSTOMERS

Your customers will be very much at home when they see you preparing what they will eat. There is this sense of transparency your customers will feel seeing you prepare their food. This equally gives them the opportunity to know the content of what they eat.

PROMPT AND QUICK SERVICE

Your customers were hungry before they came into your restaurant in the first place and will want to be attended to quickly. Attend to them fast and see them become a long term customer.

ENGAGING IN HEALTHY COOKING

Over the period of time, your customers will start seeing the impact of your food on their body. I mean you can’t afford to go back to the same restaurant where you finish eating and start having running stomach.

EATING WHAT YOU COOK IN THE PRESENCE OF YOUR CUSTOMER

Wouldn’t you be happy seeing your food vendor eat what they sell to you? Am sure you will be happy. So try to do same to your customers.

CONSTANT INNOVATION AND INTRODUCTION OF NEW VARIETIES

Variety is the spice of life is a popular saying. And am sure your customers will not like taking one kind of food every day. So, make sure you introduce new foods from time to time.

EMPLOYING THE BEST HANDS

Employ the best hands that will help bring these things to fruition. And the only way to make this happen is to always keep them motivated at all times.

You will agree with me that taking care of the above points will make your restaurant business flourish beyond your imagination. So, what are you waiting for? Just grab these wonderful materials that will help fine tune your skills in running a successful restaurant business and catering.

To your success in restaurant business!
