Well yesterday I posted how I got my first Amazon sale. Today I see I got 3 more!
However, I noticed it does not show any money, and they are marked as ordered but not shipped. Does this mean you don't get credited for the sale until they ship?
Yep - you only get the revenue when they are shipped - normally takes a couple of days or so!
Correct. Until they are shipped it won't show your commission. You can still click on the sold section report to see what you've actually sold and calculate it manually from there.
I just recently found out that if you sell something in the last few days of the month and they don't get shipped till the following month, the money will go into the following month's commissions.
which is great because your next month gets off to a running start, but also sucks at the same time as invaiably I am just a few shipped items off the next level of commision.
Ah ha, that explains it then. Thanks much, guess I need to make a lot more Amazon stores in my sites now!
And perhaps considering repeating your success on HP *nods*. Amazon can be very lucrative
Congrats on your new revenue stream
It certainly is. I got about 2500 views on my sales hubs last month and sold 33 items. Now to up the views......
When you work out how to do it you should do a hub about it. My traffic and Amazon grew together but there's probably quite a few people like you who have good traffic but ist not converting and could use your advice.
Convince those that find your article that the product/products is/are exactly what they're looking for. Bearing in mind that they're looking for a specific item, therefore it's probable that they're intention is to do more than look.
What are the product features, what's great about it, is it a bargain, a best seller ... a five star product? You know ... sell Less the 'hard' bit of course
Yeah, this product is so good and cheap, you can't afford NOT to buy it!
Concentrating on low value items which convert well is actually a fantastic strategy, especially early on.
Concentrate on reaching the various thresholds (I only met 7% for the first time last month!) and any big sales are a fantastic bonus.
If you manage to sell a $200 item, say a games console, the difference between 4% and 7% is substantial. Ultimately, you find yourself thanking those that bought a $2 poster, those that bought a $2 eBook, or a $1 download, etc.
Look at Mark Knowles, he sold a multi thousand dollar watch and rinsed out on 8% commissions. Twice as much as you would get at your current rate of 4%! (Although you should reach 6% by the end of the month if you have sold 4 items already!).
Glad that it has started to work for you. Just to inspire you, here are my monthly Amazon revenues since the start:
07/09 $00.00
08/09 $00.71
09/09 $00.00
10/09 $01.46
11/09 $04.22
12/09 $22.07
01/10 $07.62
02/10 $30.97
03/10 $36.80
04/10 $17.82
05/10 $27.41
06/10 $48.60
07/10 $64.53
08/10 $227.11
09/10 $343.83
So far this month I am well on course to beat my September Amazon earnings, in fact 'thrash' them. With perseverance, a bot of experience, it will always happen for you. I almost gave up on Amazon at one stage. Now it is growing at a faster rate than my AdSense. The snowball does arrive, once you begin to gain a bit of faith in it as a network. I actually think that its a fantastic program, once you realise the potential. I am still a long way off my aspirations with Amazon, I am seeking $1000 a month. Particularly as I move towards building my own sites.
Thanks for letting us see your stats, it gives me an idea of what to expect. Getting sales at first from an affiliate is always the hard part.
But once you do get sales you can see why your getting them and repeat until your doing well, as you have shown. Of course the next few months will be great.
After Christmas however expect a big drop for a month or two. Retail sales always drop right after Christmas, except for one niche I can think of.
If you add an Amazon store to your own site, which I recommend, I'll give you some tips on the best way to do that. Do NOT use the widgets.
The two Amazon stores I opened only a month ago in my site with only a few backlinks rank for the first and second pages of Google for the key words.
Thanks again for your stats breakdown.
Bill manning, thanks for starting this thread as any Amazon related hub is worth my attention. I wish you more sales in the future and cheers for more sales, small or big they sure do accumulate to something more.
Ryan always an inspiration for me, I had given up on Amazon but started working on it since the past two months. Some gave me clicks seeing your earning curve it gives me a reason not to give up. How are things at your end, how old has Coco become now?

Just a report of a possible glitch in the new program. I signed up, I think, on the 16th of the month, and the 17th shows two shipments. The 18th also shows a shipment, so the system is working. The 18th also shows a sale, and shipment of that sale, in my Amazon account - something that...

I know it can take up to 7 days for an ordered product to be shipped out, and that Amazon does not show ordered product on earnings report until it is shipped out. My estimation is that it has been 7 days since product was ordered, but earnings report still does not show it. If somebody...

I check my Adsense twice a day and am continually refreshing till Amazon rolls over at the end of the day as well. I've finally reached the point where I might get a sale every second day or so, although no one seems to want to buy more than one or two items (c'mon, someone, go on a shopping...

I have been keeping a close eye on my Amazon sales and shipments by displaying the Earnings Reports to show Amazon "All Time" and it shows that 10 items never were shipped yet. Seven (7) of those 10 items are pending shipment for over two weeks now, and maybe much longer. I can't...

I decided to check my adsense and amazon first thing this morning and I was completely shocked when I saw that someone had ordered 2 items from Amazon through my affiliate link. I'm so excited cause I didn't think anyone was going to actually buy anything. Oh and it wasn't from a product review...

Okay, I just checked my Amazon report and it indicates that the total number of items shipped is 115. On the next line it says that I can increase my referral rate to 7% by referring one more item. The Performance Fee Structure indicates that 7% starts at 111 items. Why, then, is it...
