Chris Johnson and the Titans

   The season opener is less than 2 weeks away and Titans Running Back Chris Johnson is still holding out. CJ has missed all of training camp during a contract holdout and still hasn't reported, leaving the Titans with third-year pro Javon Ringer and fourth-round draft pick Jamie Harper as their top running backs.
   Johnson is in the fourth year of a five-year deal and is scheduled to make $1.065 million this season. He is believed to be seeking about $13.5 million per season and more than $35 million guaranteed.
   
   So how will this end?

      I'm probably in the minority, but I almost never take issue with a player seeking more money.  So many NFL player's bodies are shot when they get older.  Plus, the owners can cancell the contracts and do regularly.  As far as I know, the NFL is the only place where you can get seriously injured on the job through no fault of your own, get "fired" and have your employer quit paying you completely.
      
      They will come to an agreement, but it will probably spill into the first week or two of the regular season.  Johnson is an absolute gem as a running back - he is as explosive a running back as I've ever seen.

         With Michael Vick's deal now done (6yr 100million contract w Eagles), sports agent Joel Segal can turn his full attention to getting Chris Johnson done sometime this week I just heard that the Titans and Segal are sitting down to talk  ..again.
         
         Lets hope CJ gets some Titan love. I agree he is a gem to watch.

   both sides have to give and take. 7 mil a year for 3 years plus 20 guaranteed should be a decent common ground. Its stupid for this to go on but it will into the season unless they wake up!

   The holdout is over asthis stellar running back Chris Johnson and the Tennessee Titans have finally agreed to a four-year extension on Thursday, the team confirmed.
   
   A league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that the extension is worth $53 million with $30 million guaranteed. The extension will be tacked on to the two years he had remaining on his previous contract, putting him under the Titans' control through the 2016 season.
   
   That means that over the next 3 years, Chris Johnson will make $6,732 per rushing yard based on historical stats.

         I have no clue whom either of these guys are Shari but if i saw them together in the street I would have to do a double take, they could be twins! I would say an easy mistake to make even if they do wear different numbers on their tops lol.....jimmy
