Hi, I am new to hubpages, and I understand hubs I post must first be approved and pass the QAP test before they are published. How do i determine whether or not they passed, and if they are published or not? If they need attention, how will I know what I need to adjust?

    Thanks!

On your "My Account" page, under Stats, for your Hubs, you will see your Hubs listed. All the way to the far right of the Hub, there will be an icon that looks like a swirl when the hub is pending but will turn into a big H when the hub is featured (meaning it passed QAP). It might show some other icon which will indicate the hub needs work; at the bottom of that page, the icons are explained.

Hi chica659 and Welcome to HubPages!!
First of all when you write a Hub, you need to have a clear goal: "Make a High Quality Hub", for better probabilities to have a Nice and popular Hub your hub must have at least 600 words, 3 images, a video/poll/information table/map....anything extra.
The first Hubs you make must pass the Boot Camp, in this period you must fulfill this requirements to be a good Hubber or blog writen any where else. When you have 5 featured Hubs then you will pass the Boot Camp, you can keep track of your hubs in your profile seeing a black "H", meaning that you're being featured by HubPages.
Keep it nice and easy, write about thing that you have some experience or that you are interested in, this will make the writing much more easier.  Keep a good and simple writing, don't use too many fancy words or "personal ticks", leave your signature in you Hubs but don't too much or you can take the information to other places.
Also focus in organization inside your Hub, this will improve the quality of your hub and make it easier to the visitors to locate the subjects.
Also feel free to ask any question in the forums and read the Hub from more veteran Hubbers about "How to Start in HubPages" there are plenty of them, waiting for new writers to learn about how to take full advantage of HubPages.
P.s: Upload a profile picture, this image will be your personal mark in the community.
