Is Ebola Just a Hoax?

Could it be that all this Ebola hysteria is just another hoax?

After all, with scientists trying to trick us with this climate change crap and trying to convince us that vaccines really work, seems to me that we can't trust them to come up with an effective solution to Ebola, if there really is such a thing.

Well, as the climate is changing and vaccines do work.......

You are wrapping the myth of global warming around an actual event. Computer models are not real, viruses are. Global warming is political, Ebola is apolitical. Open borders are political. Science, like everything else, is tainted with politics because we have permitted political entities too much money and too much authority. The IPCC contradicts itself, the planet hasn't "warmed" in over a decade and the "science" is a massive property redistribution scheme.

Ebola is none of that. It is an actual infectious disease that will kill millions if unabated. The deaths from Ebola in Africa are dwarfed by the deaths from Malaria. Why isn't Malaria attacked with all the vigor of Ebola? Because the most effective means of addressing Malaria has been destroyed by the same people who are now bringing you global warming. DDT is the best means for destroying the mosquitoes who carry Malaria, but its use is resisted and blocked by those who do not understand chemistry or nature.

Ebola does understand both chemistry and nature. Once it mutates to airborne the death tolls with soar and the stupid passivity of the American government will kill Americans, too.

Thanks! That makes my point perfectly.

You seriously think 4000 African kids were orphaned by a hoax, or all those people are performing a massive "pretend" medical operation that has fooled the worlds governments and media?

There are conspiracy forums to post in, you probably won't get much response here.

It seems ironic to me, to say the least, that the media is going all crazy over Ebola, but many of these people who are going so crazy are the same ones who claim that science is just a giant shell game. They can't possibly be proposing a scientific solution to the matter, can they? It must be pretty clear that Ebola is either a message from God or a conspiracy or a hoax.

The media prints/says what people will pay to see/hear, and therefore Ebola is a message from god?

Or the people going crazy are generally those most ignorant of science in general and therefore Ebola is a conspiracy by unnamed persons?

I confess, I do not follow your train of thought here; neither "therefore" seems to follow at all.

Yes, I'm not very clear at all.

The point I was trying to make, albeit badly, was how does somebody who doesn't believe in science or take science seriously or believe scientists when most of them come to a conclusion, be worried about ebola or adhere to anything scientists recommend about stopping it?

        Something like that.

Perhaps some specificity might help clarify your meaning. What scientists aren't taken seriously about Ebola and how to combat it? The scientist from Purdue who has cautionary things to say about Ebola or the one from the CDC who has said several things, some of which are contradictory? Is it the scientists who were all passed over for Ebola Czar in favor of a high end political operator? Or the doctors and public health people all over the world recommending restricted travel to and from Ebola infected locations?

The media is paying a lot of attention to an epidemic killing thousands and moving across national borders.

Where exactly is the irony in that?

Having a debate about science policy with a climate change denier, is like having a debate about WWII with a Holocaust denier.

A hateful retreat. So for some that is what passes for an actual defense of a ridiculous misconception about how the global climate works.

Sychophantasticposted 9 years agoin reply to this

Yes, a vast majority of the world's climate scientists have a misconception about how the climate works. Sure.

And I get why you would think it's hateful to link climate denial and Holocaust denial, but I'm not linking the bigoted aspect of it, just the understanding of fact and/or how science works. I will even apologize for the suggestion that the prejudicial nature of each is equivalent. But calling climate change a hoax and/or intentionally misleading is the same kind of misinformation that leads people to conclude screwy crap like the Holocaust didn't exist.

The Holocaust was an actual event. Climate Change/Global Warming is a cult.

Why do you believe the Holocaust really happened? Where is your proof? Although 97% of historians agree that the Holocaust really happened, there is a very vocal minority of people who believe it was a hoax. There are conferences around the world every year debating the reality of the Holocaust. Why should I believe you and not these other people who have mountains of evidence that the Holocaust didn't really happen.

Perhaps you're just a shill for Israel. After all, isn't the Holocaust just a big argument for the existence of Israel. Clearly, you have an agenda by arguing for the Holocaust that you're not sharing.

according to 97% of climate scientists, manmade global warming is an event, and your children will have a much worse world if we do nothing about it.

A warmer world will be a better world. More food, better living conditions, more fresh water - it is global cold that is the real killer.Watch out for that prediction next. There is an Ice Age coming and it is American's fault for their love affair with big cars. Global Warming is a cult because it predicts the end of the world and continually changes the causes, conditions, results, deadlines and benchmarks.

Such skepticism. I feel the same way about the Holocaust and the Holocaust has far more in the denial camp than global warming.

What is your evidence that the Holocaust existed exactly?

Is it that most experts agree that it existed? That the majority of people in the field of history, who have seen the evidence, have concluded that the Holocaust was a real thing. Perhaps there are people who are still alive who witnessed it?

I think these people are just liars, pushing their agenda to get more support for Israel and for their museum projects. You simply can't prove that the Holocaust was a real thing. There are just too many people who say it didn't happen to ignore.

Only if you also claim that a third of climate scientists aren't scientists at all, but the politicians and businesses getting public money off the warming scare are.
