Buy Lego Toy Story 3

Updated on March 16, 2011

Lego Toy Story 3 was one of the hotly anticipated new Lego themes to be released in 2010 to tie in with the up coming release of Toy Story 3 in the cinemas. Initially sets that covered stories from the first two movies Toy Story and Toy Story 2 were released, for details of these please see my Lego Toy Story Hub. These were the first Toy Story themed range to be released by Lego despite the fact that the first two movies were released years ago. Following that in June 2010 and after the release of Toy Story 3 other sets based around stories from the third movie were released.

Initially there are 5 sets in this range each with a number of minifigures plus 3 smaller promotional sets.

There are quite a few Lego Toy Story sets that can be ordered through Amazon and through Ebay and there are now lots of the sets in this range available on Ebay, both new and lightly used and they are at extremely reasonable prices.

Lotso's Dump Truck No. 7789

The Lotso's Dump Truck set was released in June 2010 and includes a small dump truck and four minifigures of Lotso, Stretch, a Dump Truck Driver and Chunk. The set contains 129 pieces.

Lotsos Dump Truck has two head-lights and four yellow tyres and features a cockpit which fits the Dump Truck Driver minifigure who drives it. The cockpit can only be accessed if the dumper is lifted up. There is a knob in the back that allows the dumper to dump the red, green, and blue bricks. The dumper is also used for Lotso to sit in. On the side is a platform for Chunk to stand on.

As far as the minifigures go Lotso carries a black pole as a walking stick, Stretch is made from an octopi bottom piece and Chunk is made of a new one piece where his face is rotatable to go from glad to angry. The Dump Truck Driver is the only regular minifigure of the set and wears a yellow construction hat and a black-to-dark blue dome.

It’s a Wild West train adventure with the Toy Story heroes. Hamm as the evil Dr. Porkchops has trapped Rex in a boxcar packed with dynamite aboard a runaway train, and it’s up to his friends to save him. Buzz Lightyear, Hamm, Rex and their alien friend are on a car-chase adventure in the Pizza Planet delivery truck. Garbage Truck Getaway No. 7599

The Garbage Truck Getaway set was released in June 2010 and includes a garbage truck from the Toy Story 3 movie and four minifigures of Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Lotso and Twitch. The set contains 402 pieces.

After another failed attempt to escape Sunnyside Daycare, Lotso trapped the Toys, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Bullseye, Hamm, and Rex, with one of the Green Army Man's parachutes. Apparently, Lotso got trapped in it too, and all the toys were dumped into a garbage bin, which the garbage truck picked up. It soon brought them to a Trash Dump to be destroyed by the Trash Compactor.
