Buy Mega Bloks Pirates of the Caribbean

Mega Bloks is a Canadian Toy company that produces building blocks that are exactly similar to Lego they hold many licensing agreements to produce Disney related items plus other sets. One of their most popular ranges is the Pirates of the Caribbean range of Mega Bloks sets that are based around the three Disney films of the Pirates of the Caribbean.

These sets are similar in design and size to Lego sets and make a good alternative to Lego sets for Christmas and Birthday presents particularly since many of the franchise lines are exclusive to Mega Bloks. This hub concentrates on the models related to the second film Pirates of the Caribbean 2, Dead Mans Chest. The Jack Sparrow set was released in 2006 and was a small set containing a small set from the harbour scene as well as one minifigure of Jack Sparrow. This set contained only 30 pieces.

This set was also called The Compass and is an iconic movie prop that looks like a Compass and doubles as a portable and reusable storage device. The 30-piece Compass set comes with the pier with storage crate and barrels. Along with other sets from this series you can recreate the whole harbour scene from the movie.

The Captain Davy Jones set was released in 2006 and includes a small replica of the Flying Dutchman, Davy Jones famous vessel, a treasure chest and a minifigure of Captain Davy Jones. This set contained 45 pieces.

This set takes you to a faraway land filled with mystery, magic treasures and pirates and includes everything you need to build your own ship for Captain Davy Jones.

This set is now quite rare since it is no longer produced by Mega Bloks but it occasionally turns up on Ebay and when it does it will show up on the right, this may range from the complete set to pieces from the set. The Port Royal set was released in 2006 and contained elements of the Pirates of the Caribbean locations such as the forge, prison, pier and governors quarters, plus the zip-line, attack shark, a rowboat and launching cannon. The set also contained three minifigures of Jack Sparrow, Elizabeth Swann and an English guard. This set contained 150 pieces.

The Port Royal set builds into a defensive fortress and attaches seamlessly to other playsets in the Pirates of the Caribbean range. Jack Sparrow can swing on the cranes, take part in pirate raids and you can rescue Jack in the boat that comes with it.

The Black Pearl set was released in 2006 and contained a detailed replica of Jack Sparrows ship The Black Pearl. The set also included three minifigures of Jack Sparrow, Pintel and Will Turner. This set contained 170 pieces.

The Black Pearl ship also boasts 8 cannon ports on the sides of the hull plus 2 launching cannons, opening deck panels, a treasure chest, a moving pulley system and an accessible captain's cabin. The ship also has movable fabric sails.

The Dead Man's Chest set was released in 2006 and featured elements of the Pirate of the Caribbean locations such as the forge, prison, pier and governor's quarters, plus a zip-line, attack shark, a rowboat and a launching cannon.This set also contains 4 minifigures of Captain Jack Sparrow, Elizabeth Swann, a British Guard and Bootstrap Bill. This set contained 204 pieces.

The Dead Man's Chest playset can be attached seamlessly to other Pirates of the Caribbean playsets to make an even bigger adventure set.

The Bayou Discovery set was released in 2006 and featured a large creepy skull, a tree and a falling bridge, also included are two minifigures of Jack Sparrow and Tia Dalma the voodoo priestess from the movie. This set contained just 40 pieces.

All the pieces are contained within the skull which you can pop open to access them and then when you have finished pop them all back in to store them. The set also comes with a fantastic Pirates of the Caribbean tattoo for you to wear.

The Isla Cruces set was released in 2006 and featured again a skull storage container, an island with a palm tree, a treasure chest and zip-line, it also included two minifigures of Jack Sparrow and Maccus, who was one of the Flying Dutchman's crew. This set contained just 40 pieces.

All the pieces are contained within the skull which you can pop open to access them. When you have finished playing with them you can pop them back into the skull and use it as a storage container. The set also comes with a fantastic Pirates of the Caribbean tattoo for you to wear.

The Water Wheel Duel set was released in 2006 and features the Bell Tower, Building and Water Wheel where the iconic duel takes place, also included are three minifigures of Jack Sparrow, Commodore Norrington and Will Turner. This set contains 165 pieces.

This set is one of the best in the range as it builds into an impressive set and with the three minifigures has great playability. The set commemorates one of the most exciting sequences in the film where all three characters duel whilst rolling down a hill on the Water wheel.

However this set is now quite rare, probably due to its popularity but does occasionally become available on Ebay, when it does it will appear on the right. It is also at the moment still available on Amazon which can be accessed from the link below.

The Flying Dutchman set was released in 2006 and was the biggest set in the original release of Pirates of the Caribbean sets, it featured a very detailed model of Davy Jones' ship the Flying Dutchman, also included were 4 minifigures of Davy Jones, Jack Sparrow, Palicifico, and Bootstrap Bill. This set contained a very impressive 244 pieces.

The model of the Flying Dutchman has 2 launching cannons, opening deck panels, as well as play access to the captain's cabin and inside hull. There are also six real fabric sails and a collapsing mast.
