Dragons of Atlantis Water Dragon Egg Guide

Updated on March 13, 2012

In Dragons of Atlantis, a Water Dragon Egg is required to start your first Outpost and raise your Great Water Dragon.  An outpost allows you to have a second city where you can farm more resources and train more troops.  Each Outpost that you have (there are more coming as the game develops including a Stone Dragon Outpost to be released shortly), the more Wildernesses you can control, which help with food production for your armies.

This guide will walk you step by step through the best way to obtain a Water Dragon Egg and start your first Outpost.

Where to find a Water Dragon Egg

Water Dragon Eggs are found by defeating level 7 or higher Lakes. In your attack, you must send a Great Dragon with your troops in order to find a Water Dragon Egg. This is a new addition to the game and has changed since the original writing of this guide. This change allowed for a higher drop rate for the Water Dragon Eggs but only allows you to send one attack at a time.

Farming for your Egg

The best way to farm for your Water Dragon Egg is to find a level 7 Lake that is close to your city and conquer it over and over. Make sure that you control a wilderness for each open slot (based on the level of your castle) so that after your army attacks and defeats the Lake, they automatically return to your city and can be sent out again.

If you have a wilderness slot open, conquer the highest level wilderness your army can and fill each slot before starting to farm for your Water Dragon Egg.

Fast Farming

When farming for your Water Dragon Egg, it doesn't matter if there are monsters defending the level 7 Lake or not, your egg could still drop. The fastest way to farm your egg is by following the steps below:

  1. Find the closest level 7 Lake to your city.
  2. Attack it with at least 1,200 Lowbowmen (LBM) and your Great Dragon. Make sure you have your research of Medicine, Weapons Calibration, and Metallurgy to at least level 5. If you have lower levels of research, add more LBM. You will also have to have researched Aerial Combat and found all 4 pieces of Great Dragon Armor.
  3. Wait until your Great Dragon is healed.
  4. Repeat.

When farming, make sure to keep working on upgrading your other buildings or farming other anthropus camps if you have the troops and generals to spare. Once you find your egg, read my Water Outpost Guide to help you set up your Outpost the right way!
