Fifa 11 Ultimate Team The Trading Game

Updated on December 1, 2010

I did a very similar hub to this last year but due to the same kind of questions still being asked this year i decided to do another, just letting people who have maybe not read my other hubs or have no idea about how to trade cards how to use this to their advantage to build a great team for them to show off with.I'm going to start out with what to do from the very start with no coins at all.It can be very frustrating at the beginning especially if you have no coins or Microsoft points to buy packs with,so i will give you some advice on how to start from nothing and work your way up to a few thousand with trading.

The Very Start

So You have started out and all you have is a rag tag team of rubbish bronze players, where do you go from here, well the first thing i do if i don't buy Microsoft points is i play maybe 2 matches and make sure i win, this usually generates around 1000 coins with which to play with, now usually within a few hours of the game being release you can pick up 75-79 rated gold players for around 300 coins,so this will buy you 3 players, from there you can either keep going like that or you can try and sell those players for around 500,be patient as they will sell. You can usually keep doing this until you have 2 or 3,000 coins it doesn't take long and from there the next best thing to do is buy a 3,000 player and sell them for around 4-5000 and you can see how easy it is to gain a foothold on the market.

Who To Buy?

This is still the main question i get asked on my comments sections and it still astounds me to this very day,i hate to sound obnoxious or pretentious but if you cant work out how to price a player it is because you are either clueless when it comes to supply and demand or just plain lazy.Well for those of you who fall into one of those categories above this is exactly how to price a player. Now you have either brought someone for a certain amount of money and want to know how to price them in which case that is simple, you simply price them at slightly more than you paid for them but beware you factor in the 5% that ea take from you for each transaction,ie if you sell for 1000 coins then ea take 50 coins. If you have won a player in a pack then it is slightly harder but there is still no need to ask me how much to price the player at,This is how i do it.Firstly lets say you opened a gold pack and you got Wayne Rooney, now assuming you don't want him and you want to sell then go to the market and put in your search options striker, gold player, premier league, man utd, simple,up he pops with about another 20 or so of him, just look at each one and select to watch, then in a few hours when they have all sold or not sold, see which ones did sell and how much for then price accordingly, don't be too greedy but don't be the cheapest.

Not Just Players

I have found recently that it is very hard to make a profit on the market by buying and selling players so i have moved my focus to formation cards and injury cards, now the best formation cards are definitely 4-1-2-1-2 and 4-3-3 and these can go for anywhere up to 10,000 at the time of release and these cards don't tend to fluctuate as much as the players do.The injury cards to go for are the heal all injury card and tends to start out at a low price and as the game is out for longer this price tends to jump.If you too are having trouble with the selling of players then give these cards a go but obviously check the prices first on the market before bidding.

Discarding

As the game has been out a while you can make money from discarding rubbish gold players, after some time people tend to sell gold players for between 200 and 300 coins but if you discard them you can get up to 400 so if you are clever and patient you can buy 10 players at 250-300 and discard for up to 400,its easy money but it can be touch and go if you make a profit, you need to check online really to see how much certain players go for.

Trading With Friends

I have about 80 friends on xbox live that play fifa 11 ultimate team and i have traded with many of them as this is perhaps one of the best ways to make cash and or better players, there is always someone out there who doesn't want their Lampard or Rooney and will swap them for a slightly less well known star you may have who you are sick of,My best deal is on fifa 11 i swapped Lampard 87 for Vidic 87 and Nani 83 Plus 5000 cash now that's a bargain i couldn't refuse. Now you wont always get a good deal like that but say you had an all English team and you needed a walcott who is still fetching over 10000 coins but you had a few bit part players such as Albiol or defoe kicking around then just do a deal to upgrade your tram with the player you want and trade for the players you don't need or use.
