GoGo Racer - It Might Be Cool But We Can't Figure It Out
GoGo Racer - It Might Be Cool But We Can't Figure It Out
We wanted to play, really. The demo videos looked very cool. Multiple angles, real-time racing, multiplayer games...
The GamersFirst Labyrinth
GoGo Racer is a component of the GamersFirst web sites. We created an account, including a Gamers ID, a User ID, and an email address. Lot's of info just to play an online racing game.
GamersFirst does require a download. Downloads are always a little scary; do they contain a virus? Do they contain spyware? Can they be uninstalled? We installed our program on a Virtual Machine that can be easily deleted without losing anything important.
We installed an executable called "GamersFirst Live!". Opening the program brought up a huge menu of online games. GoGo Racer was one of those games. Clicking on the GoGo Racer button of the menu brought up the same web site that offered to download the original program. A maze of twisty passages, all alike.

We Gave Up on GoGo and Tried Lamb
Giving up on GoGo, we tried another game on the GamerFirst Live! menu, called Lamb. Lamb became even more confusing. On the Lamb home page, am Internet Worm tried to wriggle into our virtual machine (see below). Norton stopped it. We went no further.
