How To Make Money On Cityville By Zynga
ATTENTION CITYVILE MAYORS!!!
Does the deficit in your city have you down?
Are you having trouble raising the funds for your gubernatorial race?
Citizens today are becoming harder and harder to satisfy. They want bigger and better businesses. They are no longer happy with a simple toy shop they need a toy tower. They are begging you for a recycling plant. They expect to have their homes remodeled. They want more upscale homes to live in. All of these things cost city coins and a lot of them. So, what’s a struggling mayor to do? The answer, my fellow mayor, is simple…start checking into neighboring city’s hotels.
Before Zynga introduced hotels to the horizon, mayors were forced to earn their money by toiling away endlessly in their city. The easiest way to make city coins was by collecting from businesses that were surrounded by decorations that boosted their payout. Hotels changed everything. Now, visiting your neighbors hotels is the easiest way to make money.
The prizes received from checking into your neighbors hotel and accepting your VIPs are worth big money. For example, the glass blowing shop sells for $400,000 and the spa sells for $100,000. Yes, you are reading that right. If you have one spa and one glass blowing shop in your inventory you have half a million city coins just sitting there waiting to be spent.
To show you how lucrative hotel visiting can be, I kept track of my earnings from hotel visits for three days. I identified 20 neighbors with hotels, 19 of them have both the beach hotel and the sailboat hotel. One of them only has the beach hotel. In the three day period, I visited each of my neighbors at around the same time daily and checked into their hotels if they were open. Of a possible 57 check ins, I got to check into hotels 26 times over the 72 hour period. I spent $78,000 on upgrading my rooms. By selling the items I received from hotel check ins and accepting VIP’s, I netted a grand total of $1,817,445 in city coins in just three days. Also worth noting, I earned 1,200 experience points and 3.220 in goods in the three days. The image below shows the details.
How It’s Done
- Identify your neighbors with hotels. These are the ones that need to be visited daily. Although, I’ve found that the average time for a hotel to fill up is 3 -4 days visiting them daily assures that you will not miss an opportunity to collect your prizes.
- Once you’ve identified the neighbors you need to visit, go to their city and check into their hotels. Always request a VIP when you are there. The prizes for accepting VIP’s are worth much more than just the prizes for upgrading your room. You cannot get the prized Waterfront Condos, which sells by upgrading your room, but you can get it from accepting a VIP in the sailboat hotel.
- When a neighboring mayor has accepted your VIP go back to their city and collect your prize as soon as possible so that you don’t miss out on your prize. There has been many a time when I’ve not gotten the chance to accept a VIP because the hotel has already been emptied out.
- To sell the items you’ve collected place them on your city and use the remove option to sell them. DO NOT build them first. They are worth a fraction of the price if already built. The waterfront suites is worth $500,000 if not built, but once you have built the building you can only sell it for $25,000.
Other Interesting Hotel Information
- It takes me about 20 - 30 minutes for me to visit 20 neighbors. So, it is a bit of a time investment, but one that is well worth it.
- The hotel prizes that sell for the most are the Waterfront Suites ($500,000), the Glass Blowing Shop ($400,000), and the Zombie Frat House ($300,000). They are also rare. So don’t get discouraged if you don’t collect one, eventually you will.
- Think long and hard before selling the Waterfront Suites. Yes, half a million in coins is hard to pass up. BUT, the population is impossible to beat at 750/1470. Its closest rival is the Garden Cottage which costs 1 million coins and only has a population of 700/1180.
- In theory, this should work also for the Tonga Tower and French Riviera Casino. It doesn’t. Since they are both businesses that do not rely on other businesses to fill them up the Casino and Tonga Tower fill up quickly. So rapidly, in fact, it is hard to get back to a neighbor’s city in time to collect your VIP prize.
- To upgrade or not upgrade? I think it is worth it to pay for the upgraded room in the Beach Hotel. Of the 5 Spa’s I received in 3 days, 3 of them were from upgrading my room in the Beach Hotel. You can get a Spa from upgrading your room in the Sailboat hotel, but they seem very rare to me. So, I don’t bother wasting the money. That being said, I will upgrade my room in a neighbor who has a Sailboat Hotel that has not been upgraded. I do that to help the neighbor fill up their hotel quicker though, not for the prizes.
- I didn’t include any information on the Halloween Hotel here because not all of my neighbors have one and they also fill up rather quickly. BUT…the Zombie Frat House does sell for $300,000.
- If you are a newer player to Cityville, the experience boosts you can get from hotels can help jump you up levels quickly. In my three days, I got four 250 experience points. That is a lot of experience for lower level players.
So, future governor, go out there and visit those cities and become a Cityville tycoon as you watch your riches pile up.
